I have added a new version of the mod by ckstxjimmy for those that would like the new option. Please read below for the changes in this version:
The Mud Monolith dropped troll death items. (troll skull, Troll fat, so on) I fixed that.
Brood Cavern I removed the Mud Monolith from that spot and added it to its own small den I made Mildew Den around the Whiterun area (will include a picture to location) *picture in download file*
The College of Winterhold I removed the note from that location (also fixed the note to reflect the location change) and placed it on the body of a dead mage outside of Mildew Den, I added another dead mage inside of Mildew Den added a chest inside of the den also.
If you have any problems with this mod please post under bug reports. I will be able to address any issues found more quickly if you would.

---------- How To Uninstall & Update ---------- Make sure you have the backpack unequipped in game. Deactivate the .esp from your load order and remove it and the new files from your data folder. If you are uninstalling the mod to update it to a newer version follow the same above steps, then you will be able to reinstall this mod.
is there a way to modify the basic craftable backpack to add 50 carry weight in survival mode to be similar to what other backpacks provide?
edit.: nvm i enchanted it myself. also, i very much appreciate how well this backpack seems to work with the cloaks of skyrim mod. there doesnt seem to be nearly as much clipping as with some others i tried. it actually works quite well.
You were able to make one of the sickest backpacks in history but for the quest you gave us the "Mud Monolith" XD. I dont have time for that nonsense
xx000803 = Enchanted Backpack xx000d68 = Standard Backpack
The double x's refer to the mod index number (the number the mod is, in your load order so its different for everyone). If you use vortex go into plugins tab, search for "MageBackpack_150.esp" (NOT the .esl). On the right there are 2-3 digit number sets. One under "load order" another under "mod index" Whatever numbers are in your mod index line, is what you replace the xx with. Author if you got a problem with this, delete it. thanks for the back pack tho, its great. Not worth going to fight something as absurd as a Mud whatevertheF. Worst enemy, best backpack.
Takes about 30 seconds to kill the monster to get the item to craft the bag, it adds flavor to the backpack and makes it more fun than using a console command or just crafting it with the same materials as everything else. This adds content, simple content and EASY content, but content none the less. You don't deserve that bag and I hope you feel shame walking around with it. Have fun playing dress up though, I guess.

And secondly, as much as this "cuts through" the additional quest, using the console command actually negates ANY & ALL issues any user might have with finding the note in the Quarters of the Arch Mage (such as myself) due to mods that change the interior design and clutter placements.
It may be cutting through content, but it is a great solution to those who may not be able to find the note that leads to the quest.
It's a nice looking backpack, but the .esl version doesn't like my mods. It uses the same slot as clothes in my game. If I wear this backpack, my characters are naked. I like it, but not enough to use it as an .esp to address whatever load order issues are present in my game. Not for me, but it's nice. Too bad.
I like this mod (the small version) but i want to craft a black backpack for my vampire character and a brown backpack for my mage character, where can i find these types of tweaks??? Please :)
