About this mod

How exactly does every vendor know I stole a soulgem from some random NPCs house? Well, now they don't!

Update 3-16-2022: Updated to remove the constant popup notification message. Also ESL-ified; REQUIRES NEW SAVE because of this.
Update: Confirmed to be compatible with Post-AE version by user 'ItzVaro'

Ever wonder how every vendor somehow knows that an item is stolen, when nobody saw you take it? Me too, and this got a bit frustrating when trying to play a beggar thief playthrough. This mod does pair best with the Live Another Life with New Beginnings, and Alternate Perspective mods, where you can choose to start as a beggar (or a thief... this would work well for that too). However, this should also be great for anyone that has ever wanted to be able to sell off stolen items, without having to power through the perks tree, or join the thieves guild.

This mod is actually really simple; it uses the console to make the vendors skip the "is the item stolen" check. It first activates 5 seconds after loading in, and then re-runs the command every five minutes, just in case another mod (unwantedly...  otherwise why would you be installing this one?) reverses that setting. Additionally, it does not remove the stolen flag itself, so this should be compatible with other mods that rely on that tag (such as ones that have the guards confiscate stolen items upon arrest/fine payment, or ones that remove the stolen tag themselves after a certain amount of time). Although, if you're using this mod for the "immersion" idea...   how would the guards know an item was stolen either, if they didn't see you do it?

The mod does require ConsoleUtilSSE, and its requirements (SKSE and the Address Library). Be sure you have those installed as well, for this to work!

PLEASE NOTE: Right now, the mod has been tested on both new saves, and existing saves UPON FIRST LOADING THE MOD, and it works as intended. HOWEVER, I haven't yet had the time to test if it continues to work, when you load an existing save, after the first time you install the mod. It *should* work, but I will test that tomorrow after I wake up.
