Overhauls Resistances to Vampires, Werewolves, Werebears, and anything else considered undead and making Silver required much like the Witcher with his swords. Anything not weak to Silver like the living have a resistance to it due to its softness. Silver coated Arrows and bolts have also been added and can be crafted. Highly compatible!

Introduction

I love the Witcher games and I wished Silver weapons in Skyrim was more useful, rather than just being a gimmick that they basically are. I wanted to give me a reason to carry a silver sword, not just for aesthetics, I mean without this sword, in the wrong situation would become extremely dangerous. So I created this mod.

  • Anything considered undead, including werewolves and werebears, have high resistance to normal weapons, and increased damage with Silver.
  • Anything considered Living (Not in the above category) receive normal damage from weapons but have high resistance to Silver weapons due to its soft properties.
  • Vanilla silver weapons are now craftable and receive bonus from tempering with the steel smithing perk.
  • Dawnguard weapons now have silver properties and can be crafted with the steel perk.
  • Daedric weapons still do normal damage to both undead and living.
  • Craftable Silver coated Arrows of any type. 30 Arrows + 1 Silver ingot = 30 Silver coated arrows of that type. Bolts included! Crossbow/Bow choice makes no difference only the arrow being fired. 
  • Only effects player outgoing damage so NPCs still are able to do normal damage with weapons. (90% of NPCs have non silver weapons, if you was an undead type, this would make things way too easy unless you fought the silver hand only. This also means you don't have to keep swapping your companions weapons for each type of enemy.)

Included are two optional ESPs for two amazing weapon packs Zikoru Swords Collection and The Witcher 3 Weaponry SSE you will still need to install these mods first, but let my ESPs overwrite them. These mods are not required, however with these mods and my ESPs, each sword has been balanced and fitted into vanilla tiers so each smithing perk unlock new swords as you progress, they have been balanced in damage, value and crafting to Vanilla standards.

Zikaoru Swords has 5 different swords, 1h and two hand versions, and each has a silver and non silver version for a total of 20 swords.

The Witcher 3 Weaponry has 15 silver swords, 15 steel, each with 1h and two hand versions for a total of 60 swords.

My esps just balance and tweak the swords to each category making perks required for smithing and tempering for balancing as well as boost or reduce damage, value and crafting to vanilla standards aswell as flagging the ESPs as ESLs so they do not count towards your 255 plugin limit.

Important! (Please read!)
Damage displayed in the menu, will display damages to non undead types, meaning if you look at any silver weapons damage it will be extremely low however it still has the same damage as its tier of normal weapons, it just displays its effectiveness against non undead, you can still compare silver weapons damage to another silver weapon. An example would be vanilla silver sword could have a damage value shown of 1 while steel swords could have a damage value of 9, but however both vanilla silver sword and the vanilla steel sword have the same damage to their respective targets. Silver coated arrows display normal damage values, however when you equip a bow with a silver coated arrow, the bows displayed damage will reduce, no weapons damage is being reduced its just how conditions are being met for perks which alter the displayed value.

Compatibility

This should be compatible with basically everything and no patches needed as long as Keywords are properly used.

This edits the silver perk, changing the +20 damage to a multiplier on undead enemies.

Checks if a weapon has the keyword [WeapMaterialSilver] and decides if target receives full damage or not.

Any silver weapon packs should have this keyword on their weapons, which if so, its compatible. If not and it doesn't have the keyword [WeapMaterialDaedric] it will be treated as a normal weapon type and have decreased damage to undead.

Vanilla arrows that I have modified are Bound Arrows and Daedric arrows, only giving them a keyword to be ignored by resistances, so bound arrows work against both types and same with Daedric arrows. If another mod modifies these arrows, either load this mod after or use xEdit to give the keyword back to these arrows.

All added bows work, bow makes no difference it just checks the arrow type, if the arrow has the Silver coated keyword then its adjusted, if not then its considered a normal arrow.

Not tested but I am 99% sure should work with Vampire/Werewolf overhaul mods like Moonlight Tales if not drop me a comment and I will look into any issues with any mods and fix or release a patch.


Installation

Fomod install with options on how restrictive weapon resistances are and benefits of the silver perk!

Highly recommend choosing one or both of the Optional files!
If you do install the optional files
Make sure to download the original mods for the meshes and textures and let my ESP overwrite theirs.

(These sword packs are optional, and my ESPs for these sword pack work with or without the main mod. However if you do not install any extra silver weapons, the default silver weapon list is very limited, my silver coated arrows are still in the main file, and vanilla spells still work but without silver sword packs you will be limited on silver weaponry past steel tier)

Worn Undead

I highly recommend Worn Undead, which will bring undead types of animals to the world in certain locations, I have not got around to testing this mod yet but the author has said undead keywords are present so this will work in combination with my mod. Giving you more incentive to identify the animal and draw the correct blade to deal with them!

Other Silver weapon mods I have not tried yet but look promising!

This is my first mod, which originally started simple just wanting to add resistances with silver swords but as I progressed I wanted to expand with more features that allow you to tune things to your tastes. In the future I will be working on adding blade oils which allow normal swords to have silver properties for a limited amount of hits (Will not work on silver weapons) and other blade oils which increase damage certain undead types where poisons are resisted. I am open to all feedback, and any features you wish to see in the future let me know or if you find any issues or conflicts with other mods, I will get on them asap.
