Awesome mod, always thought it was so strange that the vanilla conjuration spells unlock based on skill level but necromantic grimoire spells were based on player level. As a sufferer of restartitis this meant I rarely ever got to use any of the higher level spells so really appreciate you making this mod thanks.
Thank you my friend your mod just made all the necromantic grimoire appear in phinis gestor's inventory. As I am playing skyrim by downgrading to pre AE your mod is the only way I get them without using any cheat. Can confirm that this works 100% on Skyrim SE.
I view it as a fix because without it you do not get the expert level spells until character level 35 and master level spells at character at level 48(only found this info in a redit post, not even listed on the cc). Meanwhile you can have master level conjuration with the master level quest done by character level 15 or before if you really try. Also, for the most part, double dremora lords are more powerful than just about any of the new ones added, not to mention double dead thrall with improved armor and weapons that can each also pull out another summon(saints and seducers bandit bosses). Furthermore, this mod give the tomes a 100 percent chance to spawn once you meet the requirements. As fun as it is to punch Phinis in the face over and over again to reset his inventory, why not just have them show up. You are going to get them anyway, so you might as well just get them without the violence/waiting. As far as I can tell, there is no reason for the level requirement to be so high for such weak spells.
Just my 2 cents but I would rename the mod to Necromantic Grimoire Consistency Fix or Necromantic Grimoire Balance Fix. As you very well explained it's more of a consistency issue rather than something broken... although one could argue consistency or gameplay is what is broken in this case, but since that's what the mod is tacking I would just disclaim it in the title so as to make it clear that what you are aiming for is something in the game that can be considered imbalanced for the gameplay or inconsistent in its behavior.
I hate the fact that the dremora lords are still more powerful than the bone colossus, which looks too cool not to use. Kinda hope someone makes a mod to buff them so they're bigger and badder.
Haven't really tested it but https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/62975makes them scale with player level like the Odin summons. You might try it out.
Honestly, this helped me out a lot. I don't know what it was, but I could NEVER buy any spells from Phinis. It just never showed. This fixed that issue. Thank you!
