Why does the menu close when you save a setting? When you save a setting, a global plugin reload will be triggered. This means that SPCM also gets reloaded and this closes the menu.
Why are my changes not applied / not detected by the plugin that has their settings modified? If you use Mod Organizer 2, read the notes in the description. If you use any other mod manager, I can't really help you as this plugin is only tested with Mod Organizer 2.

Are there any logs for this mod or your Item Menu mod? For some reason this stopped working and I can't figure out why. I am using SE 1.5.97 with SKSE 2.02 and the SE Address Library mod. I have a very small mod list:

But for some reason this and Item Menu have stopped working. It was working on 2/9/22 - when I submitted a bug on the Item Menu forum. Since then, I haven't updated anything, I am using default settings, and SKSE Log says Skyrim Platform loaded correctly. So I was looking for logs for this and your Item Menu to see if something is going on there. Any ideas? Thank you.
There's a bug with SP where sometimes when the game starts it doesn't properly start the ingame browser engine and Chromium UI mods doesn't work. Temporary fix is to just restart.
I have tried this with ver 2.4 and 2.5 of SP. And this happens consistently, start, restart, I can never get this mod and your add item mod to work, although it was working a week ago. It would make sense if SP is not starting properly your mod wouldn't work, but the SKSE log says Skyrim Platform has loaded, at least the dll. plugin D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Skyrim Special Edition\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\SkyrimPlatform.dll (00000001 SkyrimPlatform 00000000) loaded correctly (handle 76) And I just noticed an syntax error for rykz-item-menu in my console log. Had not seen it since there is so much going on there, I never scroll all the way up.
I reinstalled the mod and made no changes to the settings.txt. I was using only the mods listed in my original post but I then added another Skyrim Platform mod, Easy Containers. Which does work as expected, so it seems SP is active and running. The message I get now is:

(After some searching, I found that the Platform Exception is caused by missing PluginsDev folder. My understanding is that should not affect the operation of Skyrim Platform. And as noted above, it appears to be working as expected.)
It appears your scripts are loading but I cannot get the mods to work. Or maybe, I am just unable to open the UI. (I have tried different scancode keys.) Is there a way to check if either are working, a log or something? Thanks for the help.
This is extremely cool and as someone currently bashing their face into AS2 for a menu SP is looking more and more enticing for menu dev so thank you for making your source available!
One question though because I don't see it mentioned and the SP docs are kind of unclear, is there any support for gamepads in here? Or in SP in general?
I don't think there are any yet. There's a recent issue raised in SP's Github about Gamepad keys not getting detected, but SP's devs seems to already have a lot on their hands with the mountain of issues before that one.
It would be really nice if more people joined SP's development team. I really would if I were proficient enough at C++ but sadly not.
I thought this might have been the case yeah. Thanks for clarification, it's difficult to parse what's there and not still. I hope they find more folks too, it's such a promising tool.

But the hotkeys are really rare.
So are there other solutions? For examples, use spell or add a button in game menu like MCM to open SPCM.
