I'm still using this mod in 2025 but even though I fear it will be discontinued, I would appreciate it if innocuous animals were exempt from the visual effect, birds, beavers, frogs, rabbits, etc.

I love this mod. THANK YOU!

I want to report there is an issue between this mod and MCM.
If you download the normal MCM, this mod will show up as "passive soul" in the MCM menu and will not work.
    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    I
was able to get this mod to work by downloading the MCM backport for 1.5.97.

After that it worked like a charm.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(Note for other people having the same issue.

Do NOT download MCM for 1.5.97.

You have to download MCM 1.5.97 BACKPORT.

If it doesn't have Backport as part of the name it is not the right file to download.)

    Hello,
I love this mod that allows me to identify my enemies from a distance and shoot them with my bow. However, I have a BIG problem. The effect appeared on my avatar and doesn't disappear anymore. I only play in first person but it makes all my third person actions (riding, interacting with npcs, etc) extremely painful. I use the alternative version with MCM. Maybe I am an enemy to myself, lol. If I uninstall the mod, the effect disappears and I would be embarrassed to have to get rid of it. If you can find a solution, it would be a big relief for me !

      Aren't we all. ;)

Thanks for the report. Try the update, the effect should no longer apply to the player.

So, I am impressed by such a reactivity ! In any case, a huge THANK YOU ! However, it doesn't work if you just update the mod during the game. I had to uninstall the old version, clean my savegame with Fallrim Tools and install the new version to make it work. I just started a new game and did not want to start from the beginning again.

Hello, I am wondering if it would be possible to get this in a different color?

-On top of not seeing so well, I am also color blind very badly, and while this mod "helps me out a bit"....Something more apparent like a bright white aura or something would be even better.

If not possible all good, stilll helps a blind player in skyrim out a tad bit:)

Can you let this effect auto on when draw a bow? It's so cool.

    Thanks for this!

It´s a good idea but this mod work always even without "detect enemies" power activated and this ruins gameplay.

Is there any choice that this mod only work when you use that power?

    Best regards!

Sorry, what power? I don't think there's a power called "Detect Enemies" in vanilla Skyrim at least.

There is a mod, "Ring of Ultra Vision SSE" that has a ring with detect life. Although it doesn't only show enemies, you can equip and unequip the ring whenever you want. It also has some other useful rings, one of which will highlight all corpses, which helps at night when you killed something with a ranged attack and can't find it. "More Visible Enemies" is more specific, but if this capability were placed on a ring or necklace, it could be turned on and off easily.

No rings or amulets I'm afraid, but I added an option to bind a hotkey to turn the effect on and off in version 2.0.

Hmm, I didn't find anything titled Detect Enemies when looking through the plugin. But from what I could tell, all the detection spells already apply the detect life shader, so tieing my mod to them would feel somewhat redundant.

Yes you are right but your mod caught my eye because I like your fx shader and enb particle light to detect enemies xD

I don't know what mod is the one that gives me this power (maybe hunting in skyrim or similar) but the thing is that maybe you could make an alternative version of this mod only working when you activate this power as I suggest.

      Sorry poor english xDD

      Best regards!

Ah well the shader and particle lights are not from this mod. The particle lights are from ENB Lights For Effect Shaders, and I think the shader itself is just vanilla, but looks that way because of the ENB preset I am using, which is Rudy ENB SE for Cathedral Weathers. So if it's just those things you are after you don't need my mod. :)

And if the power you are using does not use detect life for its effect shader, it's actually much better to just change that in the mod than trying to tie it with my mod.

This looks very useful! Is there a more subtler effect possible?

In the Dawnguard DLC there are charmed vigilants with a sort of red effect only at their head, can that be used?

Thanks for the suggestion, I added an alternative version utilising that effect. The alternative version requires Spell Perk Item Distributor to function. The effect isn't placed at the head of enemies due to diverging node naming conventions on skeletons, but it's centered where most magic effects are attached instead.

Did you make this because of an impaired vision post on reddit?

Does this works with Aura Whisper shout?

Well, it's basically an always on aura whisper.

Edit: This comment was made regarding the original effect version of the mod. If you use the alternative version, you can use it together with aura whisper without any issues.
