Can you create a patch for some of quest while you at it ? Cause late in the quest line it literally a bug fest in the AE version you CAN'T progress farther in the questline because of that quest
Idea is great, but it pains me to report CTDs. Multiple, but for one reason, so it seems. I use Alternate Start - Live Another Life addon. All aternate beginnings (except for Vanilla Start) result in a crash as soon as I exit outdoors. To "World Tamriel", if I put it correctly. For example, I choose a start in fort Dawnguard, I can move freely outside the Dawnguard fortress in that Sunrise canyon (little worldspace, - no Skyrim, technically), but there's a CTD when exiting to Skyrim through that cave passage connecting them. Same thing with all other beginnings, BUT everything works fine when I choose "Vanilla Start" from the Alternate Start menu. This is fine with me, but Alternate Start is a widely used tool for someone like me, testing mod after mod and bored of crawling through that beheading procession and a prologue for a thousand times, and some of the Alternate start options and New Beginnings are really fun.
I suppose, that it's not your mod, but Alternate Start that does something illogical. For example, most start options Alternate Start has to offer would result in absence of Whiterun marker on the world map. With two starting options Whiterun City marker is displayed correctly - with vanilla start and "I want just to get out of this cell" (out of Abandoned Prison, where Alt. Start starts).
So maybe something is missing in the "World Tamriel" by alternate starts (like missing Whiterun marker), and your mod tries to manipulate it and fails. It would be great to overcome this.
P.S. Partially solved: when using BSA version of Helgen Reborn CTD did not occur for the option "I just want to leave this cell", CTDs did not occur when using Random Alternate Start in Chanterelle https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/60394.
Good. I dislike it when modders use books, powers, spells, shouts, etc to initiate their mods. A public letter that's not sent to you directly? That's immersive without being too inconvenient.
I personally think there should be a copy of the note at every tavern, bar, and inn at Whiterun, Riverwood, and Falkreath, since those three are pretty close, and it's better to make it a little easier for the player to discover than require you to go to just one spot in the whole entire world. Maybe each spot would have a pile of two - one you can take and one you're supposed to leave for the other adventurers, (and so the thing that happened to Nothingsweet can happen to others.)
Sunny's Missive/Notice Board suggestion is also a good idea.
The item isn't assigned to the PC I believe, when I take the note, NPCs just take it away "I saw you steal that".
But aside from that all is working well, the quest doesn't immediately start upon creating a new game and we don't get the book, everything is working as intended which makes it all much better, I was looking out for a little mod like this, thank you!
