Is there anything I need to do to get this to work? I have the buff, I have empty soul gems in my inventory, I have YATSM and I've set the chance to 100% and range to 1000, no matter how many enemies I kill I don't get my soul gems filled.
This is awesome, thank you! The soul cloak spell from Apocalypse was doing some weird visual effects on my character (it may be particular to my setup, not sure), and this is a way around that for me. Appreciated.
Is there a way to make this effect only some characters and not all of them? I have a mage character who I want this on and a warrior who I don't want it to effect. Changing the MCM seems to only be a global setting ie if I set the chance to 0% its 0 for both characters. I tried removing the spell from character I don't want effected but [help soul cloak] show no results so I can't find the spell ID to remove it.
You can copy the ini file generated by the MCM into two different mods and activate them based on what character you are playing. Beyond that, not really.
Thanks for the reply! I found a solution, opened xedit and found the actual spell ID as BPTS_SoulCloak_Spell ID:xx2f3800 you can add and remove from characters with player.removespell [Spell ID]. beyond this it's a wonderful mod, thanks!
I tried using SPID, but it doesn't work because the soul trap script requires the spell to have a caster to know who trapped the soul. If it's distributed with SPID there is no caster and the soul is never trapped. I would have to use a new script, and then the mod wouldn't work with any of the soul trap overhauls like GIST or YASTM.
Could you make a version for both aggressive and non-aggressive NPCs? I'm in a play where I want to steal the soul of a certain redguard who likes to go to the cloud district, but using a poisoned apple as a weapon
its simple - its easy it works flawlessly as its supposed to
i set it to 100% , 10 yards. just for my unarmed attack was having an issue putting soul trap on unarmed gear, this solves the issue pretty fast for me
but i just realized this mod is not compatible with Named Soul Gems -that's unfortunate, i would really like both these mods to work togetherο»Ώ
brawl bug fix is another type of fix, maybe. I installed it but still bugging. so the onlyway to win brawl is set npc to essential then kill him with command promt.
It's strange, that this mod shows in the Mod configurations menu as 'Passive Soul Trap' but if I click on the name, there will be only an empty area on the right, no options are present. I remember I saw the 'Soul Cloak Added' message after installing but I cannot set the options and cannot capture souls automatically. In the Active effects in the Magic tab, there is the Soul Cloak effect but it says the radius is 0 feet.
Do you possibly know what could cause this? I use Skyrim AE 1.6.318 + Surfeit of Souls 1.1.3 + MCM Helper 1.4.0 (says 'For Skyrim Special Edition 1.6.318β1.6.659') + its requirements. I used SKSE64+SkyUI before, but Surfeit of Souls, MCM Helper, and Address Library for SKSE Plugins were newly installed today. I tried to use an existing save. @mrbaggins12345 I had the same problem as of today's morning. Fixed it by reinstalling both SoS and YASTM (the latter one still does not split/shrink black/citizen souls into smaller ones. Dunno if that's a bug or a feature)

Edit: that, or, the latest version of YASTM isn't compatible with the Legends of the Frost modlists.
Also, do you ever think about making this mod using Spell Perk Item Distributor (SPID) for better performance ?
