Solitude slightly extended adds 2 houses in Solitude, where the wall used to be. One of the houses you can enter and is fully navmeshed and decorated for its owner, "Hermit." There is also a journal adding a small back story for him. The other house is boarded up from the outside. I was keen on the idea that even in Solitude there may be some inhabitant who wasn't able to pay their rent and or keep their house in good condition.
The wall was removed using nifscope. Dragon marker from wall has been moved up onto the roof of Hermit's house. An area where a fire appears on the ground later has not been touched in front of the newly placed rocks and trees outside of the house.
This is 100% not compatible with anything that changes/adds stuff around the entire wall area. So major city overhauls are probably a no go.
The file contains the esp and the edited mesh. I realized the wall was used for object/texture streaming, prob to save memory (if there is another reason for it, or I am incorrect, please let me know). To mimic this behavior, I utilized the placement of the houses and added in rocks and two trees in strategic places, along with some collision cubes/planes.
This has been cleaned with xedit as well
There is no LOD outside of the castle for either new house
This was tested with both SE and AE, both worked for me and a friend. I am not sure of any issues at the moment, but this is my first mod like this for Skyrim (I have done them for FO4). Please let me know of any bugs encountered, etc.
