I've decided to step back from this mod as i just do not have the time to continue adding to it, but i have granted all rights of this mod to Kelsenellenelvian to do with as he sees fit. I really wanted to add more to this mod to make it the circlet mod that stands out above all others but I am just holding it back right now.
I don's see why it would stem from this mod. This uses vanilla entries for the models and race entries. So if you can use vanilla circlet then you can use these. It literally is a ton of vanilla circlets with just stats changed. That's all.
Found the issue in SSEEDit, the circlets are missing a model filename for high elves. This is fixed for vanilla circlets in the unofficial patch but is missing from this mod. Easy to overlook.
So does this mod work with circlet mesh replacers? Like, if I wanted to use a mod to make circlets more dainty and pretty, is that compatible with this?
The circlets are not appearing on mu Dunmer character but it is fine on my Nord character. Is there a solution to this issue? I am just using NMM to install the mod.
okay so for the future additions this is what im thinking right now, but its open for debate. please feel free to reply to this post about any changes to the list you might like to see.
circlets to be added
Spoiler:
Show
ancient shrouded (will require the hood to be crafted) shrouded (will require the hood to be crafted) ancient nord (will require the helmet to be crafted) blades bonemold flamer heavy armor chitin (light and heavy) dawngaurd (light and heavy) guild master's (will require the hood to be crafted) forsworn imperial (light and heavy) Nordic carved nightingale (will require hood to craft, and because its leveled i have to make three defferent recipes for it) steel plate stormcloak thieves guild (will require the hood to be crafted) vampire
Four sets of armour really need circlets: Vampire/Vampire Royal; Dawnguard, Shrouded + Ancient Shrouded and Nightingale. Reasoning: Vampire is an incomplete set - Dawnguard light helmet is just fugly. Shrouded without CCOR is almost silly and Nightingale again fugly.
I'll agree on the vampire part I don't think the other arguments are good enough basis for additions here though. (That's my personal view though. Bigdaady might see it different)
I could add all of those plus thieves armor just because i don't like to wear the hoods either, which is reason enough for me. as for the vamp set you can get complete armor bonus by using shrouded cowl. (says so on the wiki anyway.) I'll have to put them into the jewelry section at the forge just so they can be made without the high level smithing perks so you could make them as soon as you join each faction. i just need to look into adding the appropriate enchantment at the time of crafting, and i'll probably require a soul gem to make adding the enchantment at crafting more realistic. I'll let you know what i come up with, but it might be a bit. lots of real life is happening these days, and i haven't even played a game in a fortnight.
and if there are any more reasonable additions that come to mind please list them so i can get them all out of the way at once. every time i update with another set i have to do it for all three armor level variants so that adds up to 1170 edits plus each new addition x3. so for the love of carpal tunnel syndrome, please let this be the last time i have to add stuff. just kidding, I'd do anything for you. I love you random nexus users.
Ok then. If we are going to go by fugliness I vote for the following:
Bonemold Chitin Falmer Foresworn
I just thought of something: I can use the next version to make a overhaul that primarily gets rid of helmets in skyrim. That would work amazingly with looks overhauls!!!
With this in mind bigdaaddy would you consider a set for every vanilla armor set in legendary Skyrim. I know that's a ton of work but it would be an amazing addition to your mod and the Skyrim circlets for everyone would be one hell of a popular mod that would garner us both more attention.
Dang kels, you hit me right in my inner attention-whore. well guess its go big or go home. I'll try to bust out a set or two each week, but I'm not going to upload again till its complete. and I'll incorporate the changes you made over on oldrim page so they don't have to be re-edited. once its complete the only thing that might make it huge here on nexus is an optional texture/mesh replacer.
one question though, do we really need a leather set? i mean who stays in the leather tier that long anyway?
never mind i better just do it anyway, so i can claim its "COMPLETE".
i do like the look of elegant circlets but i think its just the mesh file thats up for free use. we still need a texture for it or permision to use the one in that mod. and the gems mod says it can be used with most retexture mods so that would pair nicely.
Nexus member Kelsenellenelvian is currently making a large equipment mod that uses these circlets, he has my explicit permission to use them for it. he also back ported this mod to oldrim. so remember if you like it over there and endorse it, come and show me some love too.
I read your post while at work, but I didn't have time to respond. I'm glad you figured it out though, and I have changed the discription to make that part more clear for others.
Apologies for bothering you, but are the dwarven circlets flagged to activate the Ancient Knowledge perk? I do not know how to tell without leveling for a day. Thanks
I'm not sure about the ancient knowledge perk. I'll look into it this week and get a new version up if I need to change anything.
Edit: just looked it up and I belive it should work, all I did to make each circlet was copy the base stats of the equivalent helmet. So all the flags for the helmet have been applied to each circlet. If for some reason it's not working let me know and i'll investigate further.
Thank you so much for the dragon bone and dragon scale additions. In the future do you plan on adding the rest of the craftable sets like from dragonborn?
i.e. Chitin, bonemold, stalhrim, nordic carved?
Without a doubt this is the best armored circlet addition mod i've found. It's well done in the fact there is all of the variants and when\if you add the rest it will by far be the most complete.
well i was just going to leave it as it is and possibly add more upon request but i figured some sets didn't need to be included as it seems redundant. like leather and hide versions i thought didn't make sense to include. and the sets you mentioned have the same stats as other armor tiers, as far as helmets are concerned, so because they reuse vanilla models i thought it was just extra work.
i may change my stance and add them for all armor sets. though i would probably change the forge recipes to check if you have the required gem in your inventory to reduce all the forge list clutter.
Very good points the only counter point I have to that is for stalhrim because of the inherent cold enchantment boosts;
"Due to Stalhrim's innate properties, the resist frost enchantment is 25% stronger when placed on armor pieces crafted from it. This effect is identical to the enchanting perk "Frost Enchanter"."
Other than that yeah same basic values and all of that.
No problem, I haven't been able to test it as I didn't have dragon armor smithing at the time so if it's not working let me know and I'll take a look. If its to your liking I would really appreciate the endorsement.

Edit = I have permission for the better gems now.
