For CGO users: Unlike the Vanargand one handed normal attacks, this mod is compatible with CGO, though make sure you disable the Unlocked Movement feature.
For Anniversary Edition andconsole users: Unlike the Vanargand mid stance and the one handed normal attacks, this unfortunately won't work properly on those versions of the game as it requires Animation Motion Revolution which is only available for SSE at the moment (Edit: Now also available on AE), as I've explained in the description, proceeding to use this mod anyway without AMR is not recommended and will cause a lot of sliding.
Hello, I have a problem that any power attack in any direction is always the same powerattack (its the powerattack of this mod where the character just pounds the sword to the ground) and its the same for the low-stance animation of the greatsword power attacks, i have every mod for the onehanded/twohanded animations installed from stance to every attack
However, I can't seem to get the power attack animations to work. I have installed it through NMM, updated Nemesis multiple times but all I get i is a "vanargand normal attack" followed by a vanilla power attack whenever I try to do a power attack.
Hi there! I'm having an issue (and I'm at least 90% sure it has to do with specifically this mod, if not one of the other Vanargand mods) where seemingly at random, when I try power attacking, my game instantly crashes to desktop. Disabling my Vanargand mods fixes the issue, but these are easily my favorite animation mods and I consider them absolutely vital to enjoying a playthrough. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
I'm having the same issue except it only seems to be whenever I do a right directional power attack. I've never had this before and only have a small inkling of what it might be. Are you using Aetherius by chance?
Whenever i use the forward/backwards/left/right power attacks the character starts in the standing power attack animation for a split second before doing the proper directional animation. Anyone else experiencing this?
it's even in the preview video on the description page (slow down to 0.25 to see clearly). this happens to everyone I guess. that strange hand jerk move before actual move starts. like character rises weapon twice for a swing.
here's animation log, looks like it activates twice for some reason.
I did some digging, actually installed hkxposer and havok tools, hkx -> serde and a lot more tools... but all in vain. looks like very specific skyrim peculiarity.
It happens on barebones vanilla + AMR (and it's required deps), and nothing else. if you search "Skyrim Double Power Attack Bug" - there's plenty of discussions with no resolution. simple solution (more like a workaround really) is to use separate/1click power attack mods. I tried with https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/113829?tab=description (works without MCO just fine, but probably something simpler would be better with no MCO/Dodge attacks) if power attack is on a separate button - it comes out perfectly. as I understand it - vanilla animation for both power and normal attacks startup frames look pretty close, just after game determined it's power attack it kinda blends in.
because Vanagrand power and normal are quite different - you see the the initial frames of normal and it switches to power. I think (and I may be very wrong) if normal and power frames were same or power frames started later, relying on normal startup frames - we would not see the initial jerk. or maybe there's some secret annotation blending tag that can be added with modern frameworks or nemesis patch, idk really. not an animator, not even close.
anyway, thanks for reading my wall of text, I'll go and test separate power attack mods now, because it solves problem completely at the cost of a separate button.
TLDR: it's probably not a mod conflict, it's just skyrim lol.
Behold, found alternative/better solution than separate power attack for more vanilla experience Hold Power Attack NG it basically allows you either to spam light attacks, or hold and makes power attack on RELEASE. such a gem of a mod. it even can play sound or vibrate controller when power attack is "charged"/ready. config is generated after launch, I've set MinPowerAttackHoldMs = 300 seems pretty close to vanilla delay.
basically it gives you slight delay on power attacks but allows to "store" them and release as needed. while the power attack is held/stored - you can still run around and even interact with things, but as soon as you release - PA comes out. works for DW too, you can just hold both buttons and still do things. release buttons - PA comes out. and it completely solves this mod's animation jerk without taking extra buttons.
Can someone please help? The only powerattacks I can do is a thrust. I am specifically using a sword and I haven't tried it for every one handed weapon.
In the video on your description page, at the end when you are in a fight, it seems like you have a combat system allowing you to perform a "Pseudo-killmove" throwing your opponent on the ground. I looked through many Combat mod and didn't manage to find this. Can you please tell us what is that mod ?
Great animations overall, but I have an issue where sprinting forward power attacks with the main hand causes the screen to flicker. No other animations in this mod (or any of the other animations from Verolevi) has this issue. Apologies, this appears to be a bug with smoothcam, not the animations
