What we know

Aela
"My mother was a Companion. And her mother. And all the women in my family, back to Hrotti Blackblade.
I stayed with my father in the woods until I was old enough for my Trial. We hunted everything there was to hunt...
Good training.
Ma didn't live long enough to see me join, but I fight to honor her and all my Shield-Sisters through time."
Aela the Huntress is a Nord werewolf, thief and member of The Companions. She is one of five members of The Circle.
Residing in Jorrvaskr with the other Companions, Aela offers lycanthropy swallowing her infected blood

Serana
Serana is an ancient pure-blood vampire and the daughter of Lord Harkon and Valerica. She is known as one of the "Daughters of Coldharbour,"
Her blood is highly infectious.
After the Hall of the Vigilant was attacked by vampires, the Dragonborn is sent to Dimhollow Crypt to investigate further.
Serana is discovered in the crypt and set free. She asks the Dragonborn to help her get home to Castle Volkihar.

Vigilant Tolan

Against the advice of Isran, he offers to meet the Dragonborn at Dimhollow Crypt.
The Vigilants hunt all sorts of creatures that prey on mortals, such as vampires, werewolves, and witches.
However, their prime focus is on the Daedra. The Vigilants consider the Daedra profane creatures with no hope of redemption,
believing they lure people to their deaths and corrupt their souls with a touch.
For this reason the Vigilants try to hunt for Daedric artifacts, in order to prevent them from creating chaos and havoc on Tamriel.
These artifacts, if found, are then brought to the Hall of the Vigilants.

Isran

He was previously a member of the Vigilants of Stendarr years ago after witnessing his family's death at the hands of Molag Bal Vampire cultists,
alongside Celann. Dissatisfied with the order, and the fact the Vigil found his methods "extreme," they both left to form their own partnership.
It didn't last long, as Celann began to disagree with some of Isran's methods.
In 4E 201, after a recent spate of vampire attacks, Isran went on to revive an ancient order of vampire hunters known as the Dawnguard.
He re-established its headquarters in Fort Dawnguard, a massive fortress deep within the Velothi Mountains
and rallied new recruits in order to combat the undead menace.

What we don't know

Behind the scenes, in a hidden laboratory located at Fort Dawnguard, experienced alchemists did secret research on a cure.
The leading alchemist got the idea to mix the blood of a werewolf and a pure blooded vampire to have the evil in this blood neutralising each other.
The result is a very fragile blood-like liquid, containing both the evil stalking each other. Any disturbtion of this tense standoff will free the evil.
Beware of setting free the evil! Do never ever expose the altar or vessel to any damage. Worse than nitroglycerine, the evil in pure form !
The liquid starts glowing and you just got seconds before the evil escapes. You will be doomed.
