About this mod

Port of an Oldrim large shield adding mod with significant modifications by me (Leveleld lists, CCOR crafting, stat rebalancing, upsized textures, etc).

Permissions and credits
Mega Shields adds a large number of shields (1k) to Skyrim's crafting, but had issues liek unbalanced stats and no crafting perk requirements. I have ported it to SE but made various modifications:

1. Diffuse maps upsized from 1k to 2k or 4k using Topaz Gigapixel + some Photoshop filtering.

2. Ran meshes through SSE Nif optimizer.

3. Resaved Esp in Creation kit to set Form 44.

4. Deleted resources and related esp entries that were too modern (most superhero shields for instance) or had poor low res textures that could be rehabilitated (about 20% removed).

5. Decided on a tier, rebalanced stats and crafting requirements (close to vanilla stats for the tier but materials depend more on shield appearance), created Breakdown Recipies for most shields, added CCOR conditions to the Crafting & breakdown recipies, added Frostfall keywords, occasionally added WAF keywords. Most shields are low end (Hide, Iron, Steel). Occasionally I have created low and higher tier versions of the same item (same appearance, diff stats and creafting requirements).

6. Level list additions. You have a choice of traditional level lists with the shields placed inside sublists so that vanilla Skyrim shield will show up at least 50% of the time, or a version requiring Open World Loot (a different style of sublists).

Additionaly, I have created an alternate esp that doesn't automatically flood the crafting menus since the shields require one of two crafting books for the large number of recipies to show. These books are placed in a sack at the end of the Helgen dungeon, and in the worldspace just outside the Helgen dungeon exit (the ChargenExit area I think it is called in the esp). I am new to placing things in the world and creating books, so I hope it works fine. A possibly alternative would be to create a script to auto add these books to the inventory, though I would have to look at how other mods implement this since I don't yet understand how scripting works.

Thanks to TheMalfazar for creating Mega Shields.
