@whiskeyjack9105 not hate... pitty. Serana was the best companion in vanilla Skyrim, and with Serana Dialogue Add-on she is as good as top companions on Nexus, given time, might even become bigger and better ^^

the college girl conversion mod is a complete miss for me but it is a testament to how much people love serana that you can make a random character mod and slap her name on that character and people will love it because of their previous association with that character. she's definitely essential to any play through. character is just too well written. the last dragonborn and the first daughter of coldharbor both fighting the hand of fate.
It looks like that mod has set custom animation conditions for Serana's idles with DAR for some reason (maybe to use the same idle animations for different poses?), and this mod covers (as far as I know) the full extent of the troublesome pointed shoulder idles. Either mod would probably work fine if you've noticed the problem and can't un-notice it.
Looks like they just use DAR to restrict the animation exclusively to Serana's character, in case other NPCs may use those as shared animations - if that's the case, fixing Serana may affect other characters in non intended ways, like a bulky male character having lowered shoulders on something.
Yes, that's right. The reason I was using DAR was because I was using an animation (Offsetarmscrossed.hkx) where Serana clasps her shoulders in common with the men. DAR is not necessary if Offsetarmscrossed.hkx is not changed.
Does this animation look OK with different body types (vanilla, UNP, CBBE) or is it tailored specifically to the vanilla body and will look weird otherwise?
I've never made this kind of mod, but it should be fine since it appears to change the skeleton nodes in that one animation and not the body itself. I think they're different things.
Even different skeletons probably work if they're not too different from vanilla.
I don't see this problem in my game. People use all sort of soft replacers that make Serana head too big or too small depending of the case. So mods are 50% to blame here.
