Many questions and bug reports here. Please take into account that this mod was originally released in 2012. Many of the 'fixes' included are made redundant by USSEP, but this mod has not been updated for (modern) versions of USSEP.
Is this compatible with NFF? For some reason the compatibility section on the mod page states "not compatible with any mods that directly affect the recruitment of Blades."
I don't know about NFF, but I have used it successfully with both AFT and NPC Party. With AFT, I had to use the playerfollowercount command between each recruitment, in case you run into any issues with Delphine not recognizing that you have someone with you.
Once I reach 5 Blades at that point the game crashes if I fast travel, or crashes after walking away from Skyhaven temple. Tested twice now, same results.
I'm not sure if this will work for people without the standard blades recruit option but it might be a way to do it. I have had to use it to recruit more than one person. I found it on the Oldrim versions by a guy named karmela65.
"I have found a solution! They will act like Blades and dress like blades and move into the Sky Haven Temple. You can do this by: 1. Open the console while the desired NPC you wish to recruit into the blades is currently your follower and click them to select their RefID. 2. Type into the console "SetConsoleScopeQuest FreeformSkyhavenTempleA" (Without the quotations, of course) 3. Then type "ForceRefinToAlias blade01". (Or replace 01 with 02 or 03 depending on what the next available blade slot is. You can check this by typing "sqv FreeFormSkyHavenTempleA") After that they should move their home to Sky Haven Temple and will do so once you dismiss them from being your current follower. To get a second person into the blades follow these steps but FIRST you will need to cause the game to initiate the next stage. Check which stage the quest is currently in by typing "Player.sqs FreeFormSkyHavenTempleA". If you are on stage 10 then it is still waiting for you to recruit a follower to the blades. If you have and are now wanting a second you must type "setstage FreeFormSkyHavenTempleA 20" to cause her to move onto the next follower and replace 20 with 30 once you have the first two. Once you have all three needed change out the 30 with a 40 and it will point you to talk to Esbern about dragon lairs to start the repeatable quest "Dragon Hunting". That's It! I hope this solved the problem for anyone else who has this pain in the ass."
His instructions have worked pretty well. Only issue I experienced with them is after recruiting the 10th blade, the 'speak to Esbern about dragon lairs' task never goes away but I am still able to send blades out on hunts.
Can confirm it works! In short, I already had all three blades so I did this. Bring follower to Sky Haven temple, open console commands and click on them for ref ID. Follow steps 2 and 3 but replace numbers with 04--10. No issue with "Dragon Hunting" or Esbern.
I'm having an issue where the "speak to Esbern about dragon lairs" task won't clear. I have already recruited all 10 blades and am able to send them on dragon hunts but this misc task remains there. I have tried to use the setstage command and the setobjectivecompleted commands and they didn't work.
So I accidently had another mod that allowed 10 Blades followers and turned that one off and it removed the other stuff it added but I still can't add past the 3rd follower. Do I need to just try to do the console commands or is there another fix? It's loaded after Amazing Follower Tweaks and I took one follower at a time to Delphine with no issues for the first three, now I have no dialogue option. Any help is appreciated.
Recruiting worked flawlessly for me. But does anyone experience an idle marker at the entrance, where the Blade/NPC stands there looking at the corner? They block the doorway sometimes. Not sure if related to this mod, I'm using ICAIO

Any chance we could get this in ESP-FE format? Because I don't feel like this little thing is worth a slot in my load order, but I really like the idea. In the mean time, I'll just use iAFT to recruit people as followers, bring to Skyhaven, and then tell them this is their new home, and give them some blades armor. It won't function the same for dragon hunting, but at least the place will look busier.
So, here's a little guide for those using AFT, EFF, etc. who are having trouble with getting the topic with Delphine for recruitment whenever you bring more followers.
1. If you bring a follower to Delphine (make sure it's only one at a time) and she doesn't give you the dialogue option to recruit them, exit from the conversation, open the console, and type "set playerfollowercount to 1" and hit enter. This should override the default for follower mods that keeps your count set to 0 so you can have multiple followers. Talk to Delphine and the dialogue should appear normally. Also, make sure this mod is AFTER your preferred follower mod in the load order, otherwise they will override the quest script for this one.
Be sure after Delphine recruits your follower to go back into the console and type "set playerfollowercount to 0" to reset your count, otherwise you won't be able to pick up another follower to bring along.
It's really that simple. Great mod. It really brought my SkyHaven to life!
I tried it and this worked, just make sure you haven't recruited a single blade yet, only have one follower with you and that they are following you when you set it to 1...induct them. Then you have to set it to 0 again to get another follower. Set back to 1 and get them inducted. I have 5 blades now and I am at the point in the game where I have the elder scroll and can go back in time to get dragonrend at anytime. Can't tell you if it will work if you already have blades though.
did this just a few moments ago, it worked, i installed this mod some time after getting the dragon scroll but i still haven't used it on the time wound thing, i have over 100 mods installed (mostly graphics mods)
*Experimented installing mid game before entering Skyhaven Temple for the first time. I use Aft and this method seemed to work fine, although I could not get past 4 recruits. On the 5th I got the dialouge but my follower did not leave my service. I guess I'll have to save this for a new playthrough. Love the concept though, 3 recruits just doesn't seem like rebuilding the Blades.
To anyone else having this problem, the link below helped me tremendously. I use a self-made port of "Simple Multiple Followers" from Oldrim to SE. It seems to work just fine in most scenarios (and its built-in reset feature has been useful for when scenes or follower behavior gets stuck as happened frequently with either AFT or EFF), but I did find that with it enabled I wasn't able to recruit followers to rebuild the blades without console commands.

Note, this mod adds additional aliases so instead of just blade01, blade 02, and blade03 there are aliases all the way to blade10 and you'll need to be mindful if you are assigning more than one follower in this way that you place them in the correct alias slot BEFORE advancing the quest stages. This mod also adds additional quest stages, so after assigning a follower to the appropriate alias be sure to type "Player.sqs FreeFormSkyHavenTempleA" to see what the current stage is and what the next appropriate stage should be so that you receive the correct next objective in line.
