The mod restores Spellbreakers cut Spell Reflection mechanic as well as restore it's ward visual effects and sound.
While blocking Spellbreaker will now correctly display ward visual effects as well as play sound effects for ward hit and break.
The ward now accumulates ward power like the normal ward spell would so you don't need to start and stop blocking all the time just to refresh the shield.
It takes around 2 seconds (affected by perks) to charge up to it's full power of 50 and when you are struck by a spell the ward visually gets weaker. The visual effect will always update to the current strength of the ward, displaying the full ward visuals at 50 ward power. On top of that I restored a vanilla script that allows you to reflect incoming projectile spells by performing a bash attack at the projectile and aiming in the direction you want it delivered. It works flawlessly but takes some getting used to. A real fun mechanic though! It also plays an unused reflect sound effect when executed.

Features
  • Updated Ward effect with ward VFX and SFX
  • Ward will accumulate shield strength over time
  • Bashing will reflect spell projectiles back in the direction you face

How is this Cut Content?
In the files I found the DA13SpellBreakerEnchScript and saw it wasn't attached to spellbreaker. The script was almost finished but somehow didn't make it. It's responsible for the reflect effect. No I don't see any major reason why it wasn't implemented, it's also a very short and efficient script not like the one on bloodskal blade in vanilla. I also noticed that spellbreakers ward was behaving odd and was also not displaying visuals or playing sound effects correctly. I looked into the effect and fixed that too, looked pretty much like an oversight to me. All in all this should absolutely have been in the base game, it's that much better.

FAQ
But isn't this in vanilla already?
- no

  • Not compatible with stuff changing spellbreaker, load this mod after conflicting mods. It's not necessary to buff spellbreaker even more beyond this mod
