ABOUT
This tutorial describes how to create wigs from any hairstyle mod. If you have no experience with Nifskope or the Creation Kit, the step by step directions and images will provide you with the tools and information you need. Once you learn the process, you will be able to create a new wig within a few minutes.
The optional file, SkyWigs, is a separate mod with 25 wigs created from KS Hairdos to use in your game. The tutorial guides you through adding new wigs to this mod. It is optional because you can add new wigs to a new or different plugin.
SkyWigs has the following wigs from KS Hairdos: Aviary, Butterfly100, Cambrian, Corridor, Edge, Gaze, Haven, Icarus, Instinct, Jejunty, Mystique, Noelia, Nomi, Passionate, Pinocchio, Rita, RoughSketch, Sky168, Snow, Susana, TombRaider, Trouble, Vanesa, Wakeup, Wine.
COMPATIBLITY
This mod should not conflict with any other mod.
THINGS TO KNOW
Many hairstyles will create wigs with clipping issues but you won't know for certain until you make it.
In Special Edition, wigs acquire the color of the NPCs hair color. However, on some NPCs the color isn't an exact match.
Dark colored hair reveals more imperfections than lighter colors. I always test with black hair color on white skin.
Wigs do not work on Argonians nor Khajiits though you can change that using the Creation Kit.
Use xEdit (SSE Edit) to remove wigs from a mod.
INSTALLATION & REQUIREMENTS
To create wigs you need NIFSKOPE and the CREATION KIT. The tutorial provides instructions on installing and using both.
Hair textures are not added to the mod. You will need hair textures from the original mod installed.
HDT settings are neither saved nor created and is beyond the scope of this tutorial.

HOW TO ACQUIRE WIGS IN GAME
Best Option: use the mod AddItemMenu (see more information in the Highly Recommended Mods section below)
Second Option: console commands
1. Press the tilde " ~ " (squiggly line to the left of the number 1 on most keyboards)
2. Type "help" followed by the name of the wig. Example: help nomi
3. Find the wig name in the list with ARMO preceding it. Note the unique alpha numeric code. Example: ARMO (55001DC8) 'Nomi'
4. Type player.additem and the code followed by the number of those you want. Example: player.additem 55001DC8 1
In this example, one copy of the Nomi wig will appear in your inventory. If you typed "2" instead of "1" at the end, you would have two copies.

NFF allows you to create three custom outfits for your followers that can switch automatically depending on your location or as the press of a button. You can have a wig as part of their outfit. For example, you may want Aela, as your follower, to have have a wig with her hair in a braid while out adventuring. Then when she's relaxing at Jorrvaskr she can switch to a wig with her hair unbraided. It brings a little bit of the Sims 4 into Skyrim.
