Back when the Hearthfire DLC came out in 2012 I was disappointed that you could only adopt children instead of having your own. Fertility Mode fixed that problem, but without any dialogue it felt out of place. Fertility Adventures aims to fix that by having NPCs react appropriately to their pregnancy, and the Dragonborn’s. Fertility Adventures focuses on delivering unique dialogue lines for different NPCs. Just because Aela the Huntress shares a voice actor with dozens of other women doesn’t mean that she should have the same reaction to pregnancy as everyone else. You can also discuss the idea of having children when you marry your spouse. Some may bring the topic up themselves while others will let you make the first move. All dialogue is fully voiced with XVA-Synth generated lines.

Supported Characters: Aela, Angi, Farkas, Vilkas, Camilla, Legate Rikke, Mjoll, Lydia, Jenassa, Serana, Ysolda, Erik the Slayer, Onmund

Don’t see somebody on this list that you’d like to see? Don’t worry, the list will grow over time. In the meantime, there’s a system in place for generic NPCs to use to have dialogue, though they are much more limited in scope (more info in the Generic NPCs section).

For the Men

Don’t worry about constantly checking the Fertility Mod MCM to see if your lover is pregnant, she will tell you when she finds out! Mind you, she won’t tell you the exact moment conception occurs, just like in real life she’ll probably have to figure it out after some time has passed. Most women of Skyrim will manage to discover their new passenger in about two weeks (this time is dependant on your pregnancy duration setting), after which she'll give you the good news. The next step is to wait. As the pregnancy progresses, she might have different things to say about her new condition, maybe even a quest for you to complete. During the last two weeks she may be feeling signs of labour and will let you know the baby will arrive soon.

For the Women
If you suspect you might have a bun in the oven you can seek out a priest/healer or craft a pregnancy test solution at a cooking pot. Should you abstain from either of these methods you’ll eventually figure it out when waking up from sleep becomes somewhat awkward due to your growing belly. Once the pregnancy has been discovered you can tell the father. As you grow you can expect the townsfolk of Skyrim to notice and comment on it from time to time.
*Note:These comments from townsfolk are designed to be somewhat limited. I don’t want to spam players with pregnancy related dialogue from everyone. Just like in real life you can expect some people to never mention it to you.

Quests
Your lover may have a quest for you related to the new life you’re creating together. You can expect the quests to trigger naturally as you play, but if you’re eager to start them you can check out the quest instructions article for a spoiler free tip on when they’ll start up.

Current Quest Givers: Aela, Farkas, Vilkas, Mjoll, Ysolda, Serana

Generic NPC Support
If your lover is not on the supported list they will still have limited support. They will have generic dialogue to announce their pregnancy to you (and vice-versa) but not too much beyond that. This will work with mod added characters as well. Most of the common vanilla voice types have voiced dialogue. If you’re playing a female than you’ll receive a message-box telling you the father is not supported and will give you the option to find him manually. If you say no than the option to tell the father is gone until the next pregnancy. If you say yes than a dialogue topic will appear on every man in Skyrim that will let you tell him he’s the father (even if he isn’t he will still believe you). Not the most elegant system, I know, but at least this way you can still have your modded character work with the mod.

Unique Children Add-On (work-in-progress/teaser)
Using the unique child feature from Fertility Mode: Fixes/Tweaks, this optional add-on will(eventually) feature unique children born from specific couples. So far I've included unique two children for Serana, and one for Angi. Serana's kids will follow Serana or hang around with the Dawngorad/Volkihars until you come and adopt them. Valerica will come and visit her grandchildren on the weekends. Feel free to make your own appearance patch to change the race and/or looks of the kids to better match your own character's genetics.

Recommended Settings
  • Have pregnancy duration in the MCM set to at least 12 days. Going below this will result in less accurate timing for dialogue. A longer time period is recommended. I personally play with a realistic setting of 280 days because I'm crazy, but you can set it to what feels right for your play-style. 30 days might be good if you want things to go quick while 60+ would be good if you aren't visiting your spouse very often.
  • If you’re not using Fertility Mode Fixes and Tweaks than don’t use the debug options to impregnate or to give birth. Doing so will mess things up.
  • If playing a female, turn off the widget in the corner of the screen. Immersion demands it!
  • For god’s sake, stop looking in the MCM menu to see if someone is pregnant! Let my mod take care of that for you.
  • Turn off Fertility Mode’s random insemination. Lots of people complain that their wife randomly got pregnant by a beggar, this is why. If you use Fixes and Tweaks than you can keep this on if you wish since you can make NPCs stay faithful in the MCM.
  • Don't sit around spamming the wait menu for my mod to trigger new dialogue. Just play the game!

Installation and Requirements
Fertility Mode and all its requirements are required. I would also recommend Fertility Mode Fixes and Tweaks. Fixes and Tweaks is not technically required, but I’ve worked with the author to make Fertility Adventures work better with it. You can expect much better scripting performance with Fixes and Tweaks installed. Make sure you follow the install instructions on the Fixes and Tweaks page correctly! Far too many people report issues when they just haven’t followed directions. Once you’ve installed those you may install Fertility Adventures like any other mod. Load Fixes and Tweaks before Fertility Adventures. If you plan on getting unsupported NPCs pregnant than I would recommend getting Fus Roh D’oh to make the unvoiced lines readable.

Compatibility
Should be compatible with nearly everything because almost no vanilla content is touched.
  • City overhauls that make extreme changes could potentially cause issues with the quests, but I think this is unlikely. Open Cities will probably need a patch. I don’t use city mods for this reason.
  • Fully compatible with Amorous Adventures, though I’ve been told by a user that the events of Mjoll’s quest in AA will prevent Mjoll’s quest in my mod from starting. This isn’t an incompatibility or a bug, it’s because the ending of the AA quest creates certain conditions that prevent my quest from being possible.

One Last Thing...
This is not an adult mod. Please don't ask me to add adult features. This is meant to add some immersion for those using Fertility Mode and I do my best to make it fit in with what you'd expect from vanilla Skyrim. If this doesn't seem like the mod for you than you're free to ignore it and move on. Rude comments will be removed.

Things to Expect in the Future (In no particular order)

  • Random NPC comments for pregnant players are a bit sparse in some cities. More to come in updates.
  • Adding dialogue to player children. They’ll be so excited to know they’ve got a little sibling on the way.
  • Unique children for different parents using the unique child spawn feature in Fixes and Tweaks. Will likely come as a separate companion mod to this.
  • Adding support for more fathers.
