First-time modder, here.

Sorry if my VR screenshots are booty. If someone wants to take some better ones, be my guest.

Things:
Weight : 100
Voice : FemaleCommander
Race : Nord
Class : 1 Hand Warrior (Dual Wield)

Location:
The gallery overlooking the throne room in Dragonsreach

Bodytype:
CBBE standalone

Equipment:
Dat ass
Bayonetta's Bodysuit
Bayonetta's Pistol "Parsley" (optional)
Bayonetta's Pistol "Sage" (optional)
Bayonetta's Red Sorrow Katana
Bucket
Pickaxe
Tankard

Marriageable (I think, lol)
Standalone
Essential (can't die)

Reminder:
If you don't want her to use her guns, you can either use stealth (she won't shoot) or take the guns from her inventory (for the folks who don't read the update notes).

I also wanted to mention that I highly recommend Nether's Follower Framework (NFF), as sandboxing is automatically enabled, and is (along with DAR) what allows her to do all the cool stuff she does when not in combat, rather than just standing behind you, dead-eyed.

I also recommend choosing the option "Disable Weapon Draw" under Follower Outfits & Gear. This will make it so that the player having their weapon or spell out doesn't interrupt her sandboxing (otherwise she would stop moving and instantly whip her sword out when you draw, or if you already have it out, never start sandboxing at all). She will still draw just fine in combat, so there's no downside.

Installation(manual) :

Put the contents of the Bayonetta folder into your Data folder
Or just download it with a Mod Manager.

She should work fine in AE, so you still should get her custom walk, etc. with DAR now that it's supported. She's also highly effective against mudcrabs.
Also, I'm just gonna put this right here...

Totally Unrelated Recommended Mod:

Mudcrabs are Beavis

Updates:

**Version 5.3**
Just a few small things...
These are all keyworded to her weapons, they won't affect anyone else (except maybe you, if you're female and borrow one of her swords). If you were to take her katana(s she does come with a spare lol) or give her a stronger sword and she equips it, the animations won't work, just FYI.

**Version 5.1**
Just a quick update, to fix a few things!

  • Fixed the missing texture for the Eyes of the World brooch-thing some folks were having (the clock thing on her chest).
  • Worked on her chains, where they connect from her head to her suit, so they don't stretch and zig-zag when she turns her head (or as much as they did before, anyway).
  • Removed Silent Roll perk, because I was finding that she would fall behind in caves and crypts. If I backtracked, I'd find her, stuck in place, trying to roll over some object that normally wouldn't be a problem for her at all. If I stepped to the side, away from the obstacle, she would roll toward me, which is how I confirmed that was the issue.

**Version 5.0**

Happy New Year!!!
I got a message from a well-meaning soul recently that said, in part, "I would love it if you could make her face more like in Bayonetta games". I replied, "So would I". ;)
Jokes aside, I'm no artist, so when I designed her face, it ended up being like a tunnel painted on a wall in a Roadrunner cartoon. Looks OK enough from the front, but from the side, the whole thing falls apart.
So, this update is all about profile. Improving the contours of her face/head, so in a way, she has a new face. Obviously, it's probably not perfect (yet?), but the more I learn, the better she gets. Hope you like it!  -Bill

  • Spent around 10+ hours over the past week or so redesigning her face (in Racemenu) in various ways, in six separate sessions, using a 3D model of Bayonetta as a reference. Usually scrapping the version I'd done previously,  completely, and starting over with my original face from the past versions.
  • Basically reworked her jawline, chin, chin angle, brow, and overall face shape. If for any reason, you like the old version better, there are six other variations of her face you can check out, in \meshes\actors\character\FaceGenData\FaceGeom\Orange_Bayonetta.esp (preferably in your Vortex folder, in which case you would then do Deploy and choose Use Staging File after switching them), including the first version of her face (which is the same one for all the past versions of this mod....this is the first time I've changed it since she was first released). Just rename the current 00001835.nif to something else, and rename the face you want to try as 00001835.nif. Hopefully you won't feel the need to.
  • Added the Bayonetta dark purple eye shadow, and adjusted her blush pattern and lip color to be more Bayoesque.

I do have the 3D Bayo head model (minus the back of the head).
If anyone has any ideas on how to clone/merge her head/face with a Skyrim head (using an adapted method of how one does it with a high poly head) without losing the facial rigging, let me know!

**Version 4.7**

  • She has a new (DAR) dual pistol animation, by T-Kuku, that looks more Bayonetta than the vanilla staff anim. If for any reason you don't like it, to revert to vanilla, delete the folder 170967 or remove the .hkx files from it. You can use any staff animations, but there aren't many to choose from.
  • Brightened the gold buckles on her arm straps, as they were really dull-looking.
  • Reworked her hair for what's probably the 7th or 8th time.  It's now a combo of 2 KS Hairdos ("Alexis", from before, and "Heat", which is now the sides/top of her hair, and the long parts that start behind her ears and end near her tummy), along with 3 hair elements (mainly her beehive) that are original.
  • Lightened her hair so that it has detail/reflects light (see pic above), which means no more magic marker hair! (now that it's no longer such a bird's nest that I'm ashamed to show it, lol)
  • Finally fixed the polygons clipping into her back during her DAR walk animation (Finally!).
  • Fixed her left cat earring stretching when she turns her head (which I only noticed today).

**Version 4.5**

  • This a quick update since I got her dual wielding pistols working (most of the gun details are in the v4.2 notes, below). She mixes it up , but typically she'll dual wield the guns (in the correct hands!! lol) from a distance, usually putting one away and pulling a sword, in her right hand, when she gets pretty close. Very close range, she dual wields her swords.
  • You can remove one gun, or both, from her inventory if you don't want her shooting (see 4.2 notes). I'm open to suggestions on damage, if there's a consensus they're too strong. The point is the shooting, not the damage. :)
  • Her guns are slightly larger now to better fit her hands (all 4 were scaled, of course).
  • Tweaked gun positioning & angles to look as good in her hands as circumstances will allow.
  • Tweaked gun barrel engravings and corrected engraving for Sage (it also said Parsley, lol).
  • Reduced gun weight from 8 each to 2 each (couldn't find the tab in CK before lol), so it's less of a burden to carry them if you don't want her shooting.
  • Changed gunshot sound to a derringer .45 sound (yay youtube) but pitched lower.
  • Renamed any temporary shared/borrowed nif and sound file names, so that someone can still install Flintlock Pistols, for their own use, along with Bayo, no prob.
  • Darkened the edges of the white gem a bit, since it was pretty washed out.
  • Accuracy fix - made her shoes nearly black.

**Version 4.2**

I've been planning/working on this update for a couple months. If anyone was wishing she had guns, version 4.2 is the answer (see video above). I hope you like! :) -Bill

  • She now has guns! Big thanks to AfriCanuckinOz for allowing folks to repurpose and modify his Flintlock Pistols mod. I pulled it off, somehow.
  • All 4 guns (Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme) are here (sort of) and each have the correct gold charm added, and the correct colored gemstone. (more below). "Rosemary" and "Thyme" (on her feet) still don't shoot. ;)
  • Removed perks Armsman, Bladesman, Dual Flurry (she didn't need them).
  • Added Silent Roll perk, as ff7legend suggested previously (I removed it because the animation is awful).
  • Replaced the Silent Roll animation with JL10123's excellent Acrobatic Dodge Animation for TK Dodge animation (DAR required).
  • Brightened the glow on all the guns' gems (except white).

About the gun(s):
  • The guns are both essentially a reskinned staff, with custom projectile and hit effects.
  • They're not particularly OP but if you have any feedback about the damage, let me know.
  • If you really don't want her to shoot, you can scoop it out of her inventory, but the guns aren't really player-usable, at least not in the VR version. Haven't tested SE yet.
  • If you're sneaking, she will not fire and give your position away.
  • From long range, she'll shoot, but once she closes with an enemy, she pulls out both swords.
  • I'm still working on getting her to dual wield the guns, at range from targets. During testing, I've seen her with a gun and a staff (essentially 2 staves), so it should be possible. If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
  • She only has the left hand gun ("Sage") in her inventory because she insists on using the right hand gun ("Parsley") in her left hand whenever she has both. If you'd like to see it, you can spawn it through the console.
  • Each gun has the max number of charges Creation Kit will allow, so in theory, she should be able to fire them each 65,535 times before they are empty. I did pack a few filled soul gems in her inventory, for a rainy day. If you don't want them, you know what to do. Like with any NPC, you'd have to take it from her, and charge it yourself. Theoretically, spawning a new one from the console should work as well.

I'm also still looking for someone willing to help me out with animating her hair ribbon with HDT-SMP. Hit me up! ;)

**Version 4.0**

  • Added the correct charm to each of the guns on her feet.
  • Added the missing charms to her calves.
  • More tweaking and smoothing on her suit and gloves.
  • Added the crescent-moon cutouts to her arm straps.
  • Fixed a little clipping where the arm straps go around her upper arms.
  • Fixed her arm straps so they scrunch up less when she crosses her arms.
  • Lots of hair fixes and tweaks.
  • Smooshed her poofy hair in on the sides and back of her head (artfully), and poofed it out more around her neck and shoulders, to create a more Bayo-like silhouette & profile.
  • Resculpted her shoes from the ground up (haha) so they no longer look a high heels version of Chuck Taylor All Stars (joking, but they were deformed and squatty-looking ever since I got the meshes).
  • Added a couple new perks and a couple new shouts (I haven't seen her do either of them yet, dunno if she will, but it hasn't been very long since I added them) I really hope she doesn't scream them with a male voice. ;)

    Added shouts:
    Become Ethereal 3
    Slow Time 3

    Perks:
    Stability
    Quiet Casting

**Version 3.7**

Just a few tweaks to make her better looking. Enjoy! -Bill

  • I finally managed to find the mesh and texture for her red ribbon, so (after a month of struggle with Blender) I added that to the top of her hair, the one thing she was sorely missing. It doesn't hang down in the back yet because it would just be frozen in place.
I'm hoping someone who is already capable of doing HDT-SMP might be willing to help me with animating it (like a cape or a hairdo). The rest of the ribbon is there, in Outfit Studio, just masked (invisible).

  • Darkened her "socks", the part that shows at the top of her shoe, under the strap, that inexplicably looked really really light gray.

  • Made some minor changes her bodysuit, her ankles, her hips, smoothed lots of jaggies, tweaked some things to help her look her best.

  • Slimmed her gloves again significantly, as well as her hands, so they're more feminine (more "debutante ball" gloves than "dish washing" gloves). :)

**Version 3.5**

I wanted to post an update for her today, so I (hopefully) wouldn't be tempted to work on her throughout the Thanksgiving holiday week. Happy Thanksgiving! :) - Bill

  • Fixed the front of her hair (added her forelock) & sides, finally, so she properly looks like Bayonetta.
  • Added a second layer to the hair on the top of her head to make it more full.
  • Replaced the textures for the gold chains covering her suit with an improved texture and normal map.
  • Replaced the clock device on her chest with my original fresh copy of it (over time, it became distorted in the process of editing her outfit).
  • Extended the collar of her suit to cover the back of her neck (another small accuracy fix).
  • Removed some stray hair mesh vertices that was partially covering her right ear

Modder ff7legend added a few changes to his copy of her, as well as some fixes, and sent her over my way in case I wanted to use some of them.  Thanks man!

They include:

  • She will start at level 5 & level with the player indefinitely thereafter (for the sake of balance)
  • Fixed an issue with her sword texture
  • She doesn't affect stealth meter
Perks added:
  • Matching Set
  • Custom Fit
  • Unhindered
  • Light Foot
  • Muffled Movement
  • Agile Defender 80
  • Stealth 80
  • Silence
  • Deft Movement
  • Armsman 00
  • Bladesman 30
There were more perks, and the last 2 were the max level versions, but I didn't want her to be too OP and kill everything instantly (plus it's fun to watch her fight). I'm open to feedback if anyone thinks it's still too much. I originally tried to stick to a number around what the perkiest vanilla follower had, so let me know if it's overkill. I tested her a fair bit (at Goldenglow, against mercenaries) and couldn't decide whether to remove Armsman and Bladesman, so I bumped them both down to their lowest form and will test more. Let me know if you have thoughts.

It's not like this will be the last update, as anyone who's paying attention might have guessed. I still have more plans for her....

Anyone wanna help me out with animating her red ribbon with HDT?? :)
(I have it but haven't added it to her suit yet, because it would just be frozen in place)

**Version 3.0**

This week I wanted to focus less on the aesthetic I say, as I spent prolly 30 hours getting the new head working and focus more on making her a good companion, that is fun to play with... and I think this update does that. :)

  • She now has a High Polygon Head (no additional requirements)
  • Changed fighting style to 1 Hand Warrior - Dual Wield. Now she's a beast. See video above.
  • Removed Sparks spell (No more Bayonetta Palpatine)
  • Added Relaxed Sneak Animations (so she's not as hunched down)
  • Added perks
  • Added healing spell
  • Added Ice Skating Fix (combat)
  • Small suit hole under her armpit fixed
  • Various under the hood improvements
Added Perks:
  • Savage Strike (Ohhhh yeah!!)
  • Dual Flurry 30
  • Critical Charge
  • Paralyzing Strike
  • Fighting Stance
  • Wind Walker

**Version 2.5**

  • Her shiny beehive hair-cone finally fixed!
  • Made her gloves slimmer
  • Adjusted her butt one more time, for accuracy!
  • Various graphical fixes

  • **Version 2.1**
I've learned A LOT since three weeks ago, when I blew the dust off this
year-old, semi-forgotten project, and uploaded it, as-is, to Nexus.

It's a good thing hyphens and commas are free.

    • Added the "Bayonetta walk"!!! (Super stoked!)
    • Implemented it with "Dynamic Animation Replacer" (all you need to do is install it).
    • High heels added with RacemenuHighHeels (just install and go).
    • She'll still work w/o these, but she'll be less awesome.
    • Correct Glasses (were Bayo 2's glasses)
    • Added her guns to her shoes!! (cosmetic, of course, but super cool!)
    • Added correct gem colors in the left & right guns (white and blue, respectively)
    • Recolored the gun textures, as well as the nameplates.
    • Fixed her webbed crotch, when she crouched (aka "the doody sack")
    • Fixed her bent forearms and arm straps
    • Body proportions completely reworked
    • Redid her hairstyle (what's under the hair-cone)
    • Changed her voice since FemaleCommander suits her better than YFE
    • Fixed earring alignment
    • Weird booby hair nooses gone/replaced with KS hair (DL v.1 if you must know, lol)
    • Fixed some weird stray polygons brought over by the beehive
    • Various tweaks and fixes to make her look her best

Don't stare at her too long, she's held together by chewing gum, lol. I did the best I could with what I had to work with (including my own inexperience). I just wanted to share the silly thing we did, back then (early 2020), and then I suddenly became a research tornado when I realized how close we got to something super cool. So, I've done my best to try and close the gap. Enjoy!

    *Special Thanks:

This mod was put together with an INCREDIBLE amount of help from wpg97541, going back to a year ago, who basically taught me how to use Creation Kit, and all the other tools, and did lion's share of all the incredibly hard stuff....basically sculpting the entire (imported) outfit shell, hair, and glasses around a Skyrim body, so none of her clipped through.... leaving the other creative and fun stuff to me. He'd never even heard of Bayonetta, & did it as a favor, just being a really good friend, teaching me everything, when I knew nothing.

    Issues:

It was intended to make her Bodyslide compatible, so that people could customize the default
appearance, and part of the work was done, but some of the intermediate
body shapes result in clipping issues where the skin is outside of the
outfit. It is best to avoid using Bodyslide to try to modify the
Bayonetta mod (unless someone would like to fix it).
Also, she doesn't have separate armor, shoes, etc., so I do not recommend
attempting put different armor on her (I don't know what will happen, or
if you can get her outfit back, so don't save if you try it).

    Potential Updates:

    • Would like to give her custom voice/dialogue with VASynth, to impersonate the Bayonetta voice, if it's not too crazy hard/complicated.
    • Her red ribbon?
    • Other.... stuff?? Given she started life as an imported non-Skyrim asset, and with Skyrim's inability to reproduce Bayonetta's weird long body/face proportions, she's never going to be "perfect"....but it's fun to try.

While followers are typically best used with an ENB, being a Skyrim VR player, I have to live without one, but I think she looks good without it.
I'd love to see what she looks like with one if anyone wants to post a screenshot.
How do people take those fancy character pics anyway??

Again, this is my first mod, so if I forgot anything, or got anything wrong, please let me know. Or pretend you didn't notice, it's cool. ;)
