Downloaded mod purely to endorse it since I edited the ini myself but this mod was the fastest way to find what I needed to make Anniversary Edition content download in the background.
for some reason the .ini entry does exactly nothing in my game. I tried it before (manually adding bAlwaysActive=1) but my game just pauses. Of course it captures the keyboard, so either I have to open the Console or the Menu to prevent strange things. Do you have an idea what may be wrong?
I think I understand this.... So theoretically I could start mining stone or clay, leave to pick up groceries for an hour, come back, and my game would still be running with my player accumulating a lot of resources without the game pausing or quitting? Or if I have my game paused to take a phone call, I can come back, and it will still be paused instead of the game just quitting? If so, I am sold!
Is there any side effects from having the game run always active? I'm just curious about the feature itself, not your implementation of it, whether it's done with your plugin or by editing the .ini
Sup Masked, I've tried adding the ini setting to Skyrim.ini, and while the game does keep running in the background when I alt+tab (so I see the ini setting IS working) the game still pauses while I have the steam overlay open. Do you happen to know any way to keep the game running with the steam overlay open by any chance?
Well, in that case then I guess there's no much point in trying to make Skyrim run in the background with that overlay, and since that won't work I'll settle for alt+tabbing during some boring dialogues that I already know by now. Thanks mate.
With Linux this mod is unnecessary, but I always wanted this feature when I played Skyrim on Windows. What I am looking for is a mod like this but that pauses Skyrim without consuming CPU energy. I doubt it can be possible, because it is hard coded in the engine, but there are games that do it, and avoids to load the game every time you want to play some minutes.
From description: This is just a blank .esp to let Skyrim apply the included ini settings. If you don't want to use mod, edit your own Skyrim.ini: [General] bAlwaysActive=1 If you don't want to manually change these settings, you can use a mod. Easy. Take a look at this mod, 200k people who wanted to use the mod instead of writing two ini settings. Over half milon ppl in LE.
No you haven't missed anything this is for lazy users.
For example, if you're waiting for area to load and at the same time want to quickly check your email, or if you are listening to something on yt and killing mobs in dungeons, the possibilities are endless.

The ini entry is present in the local ini file for the profile as well as in the custom ini
setini "bAlwaysActive:General" 1
