Firstly I'd like to say thank you to everyone who has used and supported this mod since it's release, and that goes for the other small scale mods I've released while working on bigger projects, It's always nice to know people enjoy your work and find that work worthy of adding to their mod lists!
Now on to the reason for this sticky:
Unfortunately I've been seeing more and more comments about this mod no longer working the way it should since the AE updates rolled out.. Originally I thought this was simply the average mod user not reading the Description / Troubleshooting sticky properly, but I think it's unfair to assume that at this point.
I've been getting mixed reports of this mod working on AE with some, but not with others, I thought maybe that one of the requirements updated in such a way that changed how this mod should be structured, but I no longer believe this to be the case.. The Primary requirement and modification that this mod cannot work without is Dynamic Animation Replacer, which I recently discovered has not updated for the latest version(s) of AE. In fact, it seems that mod users have been badgering Felisky to update DAR for quite a while now..
As far as I'm aware, what this means is that If you are running the latest version(s) of AE, for which there is not an updated version of DAR, then this mod will NOT work! and unfortunately there is nothing I can do about that.. it's not just this mod that will be effected either, most, if not all DAR mods will not work on the latest version(s) of AE, without an updated version of DAR to support them!
This mod was created on and has not been updated since Skyrim Version 1.5.97 (SE), the latest DAR update for AE is Here, which I believe is for the first version of AE.
So, In conclusion:
If you're playing on version 1.5.97 (SE) and have this version of DAR installed or if you're playing on version 1.6.353.0 (First version of AE) and have this version of DAR installed, then this mod should work just fine.. But playing on any version above 1.6.353.0, will cause this mod not to work!
I haven't been very active in the Skyrim modding scene for a while, mostly because I'm waiting for game updates to die down, mods to catch up, and for the whole thing to be a bit more stable once again. due to that I haven't done much testing, I'm just simply stating what I believe to be the current state of DAR mods, this one included. I'll leave the comments for this sticky open, should anyone wish to chime in.
One last thing; Please do NOT pester Felisky about any of this, they are only one person, and as much as we all want to see DAR updated, you never know what's going on behind closed doors, give it time.
EDIT:
Good news! DAR has finally been updated! Get it here.
Troubleshooting: Before asking for assistance please make sure of the following:
You have all of this mod's Requirements
You have all of the Requirements for this mods Requirements!
You have edited the BetterJumpingSE.txt as explained in the Description
You have made sure no other mods are overwriting anything in the 8021 & 8023 DAR folders
If you have made sure of all of the above and it's still not working for you, This solution will work 9 times out of 10: Explanation: You may have other DAR folders that are not overwriting anything physically but are still using the same conditions I have set, potentially taking priority and causing your issue.
Fix: Rename this mod's DAR folders to ensure a higher priority, For Example; Renaming the folders from 8021 & 8023 to 80021 & 80023 Adjust accordingly depending on the numbers of your DAR folders that you know are causing the issue!
Bugs & Incompatibilities: Read Carefully:
If you are experiencing any bugs you think are Unrelated to anything I've mentioned above or if you have found Mod Conflicts, then please navigate to the Bugs Section and leave a detailed bug report and I will be sure to make my way through them when I have the time available to do so!
Known Incompatibilities:
True Directional Movement- If you use TDM's main feature; (It's directional Movement) Due to the nature of it's mechanics you cannot do any right/left or backwards flips Unless you are in Lock-on Mode!
Vampire Lords Can Fly- I am considering this mod Incompatible in both mod's current state.. it's version of BetterJumpSE.txt has Jump Count set to -1 and it also has double jump locked behind a perk, Meaning;Vampire Lords can Fly Will work as intended but This mod will not.. You will never be able to flip due to needing (What I believe to be) a Hidden perk.. If the perk requirement is removed then you Will be able to flip but you will be able to do so endlessly, Which while fun, is obviously Dangerous! This is due to the -1 jump count setting which enables infinite jumps as pointed out by StickySock in the comments..
Combat Gameplay Overhaul-Incompatible due to CGO's Separation of the upper & lower body. I plan to look into a version that works with CGO in the near future.
So everything from this mod is working for me except the backflip.... Im using OAR MBO, JBO. Does anyone have any idea why the backflip is not working for me ?
the main reason why this mod is not working to others like me cuz of dynamic animation replacer and open animation replacer are conflict to each others but if you are using dynamic only it should work but for me lots of my mods are using open animation replacer i hope i got some update that its okey to use open than dynamic
Don't scare me like that! I thought having one of my favorite mods (TDM) was going to make this unuseable! All it does is make it so that you need to target in order to do the other flips. I personally don't consider this an incompatibility, just an extra condition for anything but a frontflip. Either way, I'm relieved!
Also! Also. Does this conflict with Smooth Random Jump Animation Rework? I'm trying it right now, and I can still double jump, but there's no flipsie-dipsies.
I am having issues specifically with the drawn when jumping animation, it simply isn't working, it freezes the character's animations but the jump is still being performed. The animations are fine whilst sheathed. I am using OAR instead of DAR i am using TDM (im not fussed about the side or back anims, only front flip i care about). The other animations mods that i am using are all combat, i dont use anyother jumping related one apart from jump behaviour and jumping attack
