As per the mod page description, I will not be taking user requests for more custom markers.
If you are the author of a mod with a config included here and would like to instead include and control changes made in that config in your own mod, let me know, as this is actually my preferred system for CoMAP and would be happy to make it happen.
If you want to make your own config, you can find the new and improved CoMAP JSON Builder. Make a copy of the document for yourself and fill it in to make a config easily, documentation will follow in a few days.
After consideration, I have decided to uphold my intentions to not make variants or coloured version of the markers myself. I highly encourage others to give it a go, though.
For those of you using Nordic UI, I recommend using this mod for best integration alongside CoMAP.
By restoring the vanilla undiscovered markers using this mod, you can fully control hiding/showing undiscovered markers using CoMAP. Without it, the vanilla marker designs will always be obscured while undiscovered, regardless of your chosen setting.
CoMAP is out of the box compatible with Beyond Skyrim: Bruma, Bruma even ships with its own marker file and configs. The extra configs offered here are for either adding CoMAP's extra markers, such as Cyrodiil style towns and settlements, or for those wishing to change the Beyond Skyrim designs back to the old CoMAP ones.
If using Bruma alongside any other UI mods (such as SkyHUD, Dear Diary, Nordic UI etc.) you will need to select "No Map Markers" from the installer for BSAssets and Bruma.
I am going to hijack this because this is by far a preferable link to the old 3.4.2 for 1.5 than exists in the archive as it can just be loaded after v4 to revert the DLL only and access the markers allowing basic continued access to patchless extended marker types for Beyond Skyrim and other new lands mod markers for 1.5 users.
It is very important that I point out that this is not supported and anybody using this link will not be given any support on this page, use at your own risk. There will be missing features and I cannot guarantee that it will work in perpetuity.
As stated in the sticky above, absolutely no version discourse will be tolerated. This post has been locked because all previous attempts to share the older files have devolved into some form of unsavoury discussion.
If anyone stupidly updated CNO and Infinity UI like i did and needs the previous version of Infinity Ui here you go. Shoutout to Wayback Machine for providing the necessary file id.
This is nice, but at the moment I am using this mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/38079) and I hate to lose the colorful part of it. Is there anyway these two mods could be integrated to get the benefits of both?
+1 Major cities like Solitude and Markarth icons appear on QWM map but not on CNO. However, Riften appears on CNO. I have not tested other Major Cities.
SOLVED: I read CNO sticky and followed the instructions (Vortex user).
I don't know if it's been asked before but for some reason this mod shows the following markers as undiscovered (black instead of white) for the following:
- Ship wrecks - Khajit caravans - Jorrvaskr
They show correctly on the world map, but not on the compass.
I tried all possible combinations on install and it doesn't change.
On gog 1.6.1179, the game ctds at launch when comap 4.0.0 is installed and activated (skse and address library being both up to date), crash logger shows the dll of comap several times, desactivating comap lets the game launch correctly.
Yikes, after having downgraded to 1.6.659 and on another attempt previous version of comap, i still have the ctd with the dll from comap...
I'm going to add this comment in case it helps someone with the same problem I had. If the custom map markers aren't showing up on the map, and you don't have anything that messes with the map (like the compass thing or burma), then you might have a problem with skyUI being inactive somehow. try reinstalling it that fixed it for me.
I believe the update will address the compatibility issues/synergy with Compass Navigation Overhaul. No specific date on when it will drop so we're gonna have to be patient. (also don't quote me on this, it's just what i've read)
No updates planned currently, it was to test the provided code for CNO, but it did not work. loading the CNO Workaround after V4 remains the method for compatibility.
Thank you for the clarification, I tought that file was only for stability reasons (which I did not have with the updated mods), I didn't think it could have helped on showing the correct markers.
In the file description:
What features/functions do we lose using the CNO Workaround instead of version 4.0.0 apart from some retextures of markers? In the changelog I see "No more CTDs when you have mismatched Map and HUD marker lists" on version 4.0.0 version, does this mean I will get CTD if there's a mismatch between map and compass marker for some reason?
Yes, you will get a CTD if you have, say, Bruma's extended marker art (meaning you forgot to pick the no art option when installing Bruma)) but have overwritten the compass file with a mod with something without those extra markers in. A CTD is never something we want the mod to cause, but in this instance, it only occurs when you already have an issue anyway.
The other missing feature is the currently unused local map marker replacement function, which allows you to replace those door icons on local map with actual artwork, so you can navigate on the map and see what type of dungeon/shop you might be entering, that sort of thing. Unused at the moment, though, as I said, so no loss for the meantime.

NORDIC UI - Compass Markers Restored

Version discourse will be ignored and periodically removed, this is not the place to have that
Only Skyrim Special Edition version 1.6.629 and later are supported moving forwards.

Thanks.
Any luck we'll get your icons for other New Lands like Wyrmstooth...? :D
I am using Compass Navigation Overhaul 2.2.0, InfinityUI 2.0.2 and CoMAP 4.0.0.
Icons appear in map, but not in HUD.

Any chance this means an update is happening in the near future?
