    "the main quests that involve learning Clear Skies and Dragonrend are broken completely if the player already knows the shout and the associated words of power" - Aurora (Discord)
    Hotfix coming tomorrow.  These two shouts will be excluded.

    Any info on game breaking conflicts like this are beneficial for everyone!
    Thanks Aurora!!

    Vokriinator Black solution is known (po3's extender).  Once Spell Research projects are complete I can circle back around to this.

      Not at this time, sorry. This mod has been sorta sidelined for an undetermined period of time. (cuz I don't wanna, I'm tired of it and now that I know how bad I sucked it needs to be completely rewritten [ok I still suck but not quite as bad]). That's the problem with modding like this, you get to choose what you work on lol. However, I never say never!

      Btw, if you have a few spare minutes and are a user (or potential user) of Legacy of the Dragonborn (an incredible mod) you should go to the Legacy of the Dragonborn Discord server and ask them if they will provide you with support while you're using Ethereal Tools.

    Is this a way to ensure a "clean save"? I am considering this since I recently found some awsome mods but are hesitant to download because of the requirement of "clean save"...

      Uh, well, not exactly. A clean save is something that is done with an existing save game to keep going forward with it. This is a bit independent of that concept. This is to restore data onto any save game whether clean or not and when I made it (I made it for myself originally) it was to restore the data from an existing save to a brand new one but it just restores data. A good example in your case might be to save your stats and then go back to an old save from before you installed a particular mod that you want to remove and then restore the data on that character.

      A "clean save" is a specific process used to remove a mod as cleanly as possible. That goes beyond the scope of what I'm willing to discuss here but if you Google it you'll get a good explanation. Actually, search for my mod Lose Some Weight and check the body of the description. I may have posted something there but don't recall.

      Gotcha. So if I am getting it right this is meant to be a new game which is technically a clean save, but mods taht require a clean save doesn't need to restart a game to clean its save.

    It seems that there is a hard limit for the perk point restoration, which is 255, is there anyway to increase this limit?

      Goodness gracious lol.  That's a lot of perk points.  No, sorry.  It's actually a built in Papyrus limit.  After spending those though you can just go into the data page change the number of perk points to whatever the balance is and then restore again.  Alternatively, you could spend the missing balance first and then restore back to 255 again.  It shouldn't unassign any of the perks you've purchased already.

    Any chance you will add support for legacy of the dragonborn?  There are so many items.  Being able to restore what you have collected would be a dream come true!

      I am under a direct request not to so, no I won't be sadly.  The request came about after the comment that is quoted on the description page of this mod D:

      I am working on an updated version that includes multiple bug fixes and improvements though. I'm using it on a current playthrough so will have more info on that soon

      Oh, they are just jealous.  They tried a backup solution once and it didn't work out well...  I'm totally on board with not asking them for help if you make a version just for LOTD.  I have full confidence that you can do what they couldn't.   :)

      I hear ya, but let me say this one more time:

      I am under a direct request not to add that support for any reason no matter the stated caveats, warnings, disclaimers, etc.  I respect the hell out of them so I'm gonna hang back on that one but seriously...I do hear you, it's a great request, I could use it and thus wish I had it too lol

    @Cecell: you wrote "Each perk system has its own perks that differ from vanilla and some of them even use a combination of perks to replace a single vanilla perk" I can see a LOT of perks for my player in the console :)

    And the perks are already in "cm_ModSupportData.json"
    Also did you add some mods for ingredients, sadly CACO is missing.
    Is it possible to add stuff to that list myself?

      LOL, the structure is easy. But the branch needs to be called from somewhere. Maybe making it really modular, would be a goal for the future? I'm quite good at reverse engineering and understanding scripts, but I won't butcher your plugin files.

      Structure
      {
          "formList" :
          {
              "ingr-MyEspName.esp" :
              [
                  "0x555555|MyEspName.esp",
           "0x555556|MyEspName.esp"
      ]
        }
      }

    One more question:
    Which mod's Alchemy Effects does Ethereal Tools support? I have so many mods adding ingredients, that I don't even remember all, but CACO comes to mind, adding over 100 new ingredients. That would be definitely worthwhile.

    I've restarted again :)
    Now I didn't restore all saved stats together, but started with the books. NOW I got the open eye for each, thanks Talos!
    Restoring all Skills, Stats, Perk Points resulted in refunded perk points, which I had to re-invest on the Perk Trees :(
    Everything else went without a hitch.
    Thanks again for this tool. A clip how I use it is here:

      I wanted to show the power of the "Container Control", because this would fit nicely as replacement / addition for the cloud storage you have already.
      If you take suggestions:
      - make sure known enchantments are retained
      - can you save the perks somehow? They are just a list of FormIDs after all, and shouldn't be more difficult to restore than inventory. Or is there more to it?
      - At least 50% map markers are missing

      There's more to it regarding perks and only outdoor vanilla map markers are tracked. None in the city worlds and actually I'm not sure about Blackreach

      Also, if you'd be willing to make each it's own bug that would be awesome. e.g. enchants not saving, map markers not saving, etc.  Requests for new features are perfectly fine out here though btw!

      How are you determining that it isn't restoring the books read status? By the eyeball icon in a SkyUI menu or the asterisk in the name, via a moreHUD  HUD display (when you're looking at it on the ground) or are you using a mod that is designed to give XP when reading a book and it is continuing to give you XP even after restoring?

      By the eyball icon in the SkyUI menu. Apart from the mods that teach stuff by reading :)
      AND
      The number of read books doubled.
      Additionally, the number of discovered places is retained, but not all places remain discovered (all Solitute / Whiterun / Riften / Winterhold interior), and some other minor, mod-added locations.

    So I'm on a brand new game, restored everything and noticed a few... things.

    Restoring (and saving) containers is a PITA. Could you make it into a power? For saving popping up a textbox like Jaxon's Renamer.
    Perks haven't been restored, only perk points. Took me an hour to restore them.

    Read Books haven't been restored :( :( I had over 500 Books read. (on the second try it worked)
    My carryweight has glitched to 80. Not even Player.setav carryweight would fix it. I had to use Nausicas Tweaker (an ancient powerful tool I ported over for myself from LE) (on the second try this didn't happen)
    Some stuff in my Inventory is marked as stolen, but it definitely wasn't before. (didn't change on the second try)
    I lost the knowledge of all enchantments :( :( (didn't change on the second try)
    I retained the knowledge of all book-learned spells.

    Apart from those uncomfortable hiccups, I can just go out adventuring, getting my old followers together and kicking ass, without grinding or money worries. Your mod totally rocks. I voted it for Mod of the Month!

      Great. I'm totally happy though... I did duplicate all disenchanted unique items, so I can pull most of them from the chest storage. And those I didn't save... well, I'll have to find them again :)

      I think now, that it is a good thing, that quests weren't restored, because quests are fun, only the grinding sucks.

    Cloud Container doesn't work "out of the box" on containers in player houses. I'm getting an error that only Player Owned containers can be used.
    One has to use the console and "setownership" to take explicit ownership of the container, THEN it works.

    Inventory control works perfectly without "setownership". Putting stuff and getting it out (even destroying shows a number of items)

    -------------

    Restoring: Typo on the 1st message "After ....°
    -----------
    When adding a container to the container management (BTW, brilliant job on that!!!),
    When I select a new entry (I added all names I needed), the count is suddenly 0. If I click on it, everything proceeds perfectly, but IMHO the number of items pulled from the container should be static when changing the actual record.
    I get two confirmation promts when it finishes. The 2nd is empty.

      I'll need to look at the ownership check. I thought it was checking for inherited ownership too but maybe not.  The custom cloud container thing was a bit irritating because of the limited UI space but it can be expanded.  Are you sure you couldn't use the type containers too?  I'll be circling back around to this mod soon but atm I'm consumed with another project.

      The CC contents are not saved but I see that you found container management, that's what that was designed for.

      I'll look into the prompt thing when I get back over.  I'm glad it's working mostly for you lol

      It works GREAT for me.
      When restoring, there should be an option to close the MCM automatically, because of the gazillion notifications and prompts behind it.
      Or make it so, that the restore process(es) will start after closing the MCM.
      I'm impressed that the inventory can restore equipped items.
