For some reason, nothing happens at all when going to check on the mannequins (i checked hendraheim and bloodchill, the only houses i own). When activated, they only take me to the inventory and nothing else, no changing weight or gender or anything else. i've been checking why (loading outside a cell with mannequins, in the middle of nowhere, trying to see if maybe i needed to make the outfit in bodyslide, making sure I had both the home patches installed, etc) and yet I can't seem to fix it. thank you for your help
You need to run the patch script in order to change them. I can confirm that the mannequins in both locations do change if you create a custom patch for your load order.
I do not know what you mean by that, but I can assure I have tested it with many different types and forms of armours, modded and vanilla, and all of them worked.
2 issues - obody will apply presets that you cant change cause you cant target them, and if they have no gear equiped, you can see skin clipping through its weird and gross, so dont have any unused mannequins. also you need the patches.
I came here to say exactly this. A patch would be great, though it would need to take a different form than patches for homes and the like. A satisfactory one would allow OBody's "change this person's body type through the power of CHIM" button to also affect the mannequins. A more immersive patch might add a new button to its own mannequin edit menu.
For now though, I recommend just adding restrictions to OBody's config file by adding entries for "ftaRACE_Manikin" in the lists for "race*ale" or "blacklistedRaces*ale" (where * represents Fem and M).
Why arent they bald and how does one make them so. It just aint right any other way. Only reason I got this was for female mannequins as well as the customizable features, not damn near human mannequins with cocks
I am not using the "MannequinActivatorScript", My Mannequins are using a custom script called "ftaSCR_Manikin_activate". Probably another mod is messing with the Vanilla script, you could check, which mod does this.
The mod causing this is USSEP. I've spent a bit of time trying to sort it out. For now the fix is to go back to a save before you entered a Hearthfires cell, disable the HF Homes addon, and you'll need to create a dummy script named "ftascr_manikin_converthf.pex" and put it in a 'scripts' folder in the mod. (here's one i made you can just install with MO) . It won't uninstall properly if the game can still see the orig script from the BSA. Then load your prior save, make a new hard save and clean that with FallrimTools ReSaver.
This only affects the Hearthfire Homes, I've tested everything else for this suspended stack issue and everything else is fine (Vanilla Homes are fine). Will post more detail in the bugs section.
Okay. So I'm having issues with this script and it's been an issue for me for a while. I have 32 different characters. Will I have to do this for the save before entering a HF home for the first time for all 32 characters? That is my undestanding, but I just wanted to check. Also, I was wondering which mod your referring to when you mentioned the HF Home add-on.
I have ten HF-related mods that I used. I know that a lot of these have nothing to do with the script, but wanted to include them all anyways. Which of these mods should I do this fix for. I look through a few of them and didn't see the script included. Does it matter which one I use?

Well, I came up with my own solution. I deleted my files that happened after I built my first hearthfire home. I'll need to do this for all 32 characters. I updated USSEP. I built the house, went into the house and left it and saved the game. I used resaver and cleaned up a few screwed up scripts. The USSEP update solved my stacking issues.
When I updated USSEP, I ended up losing the mannequins altogether in the Hearthfire with this mod IF I built them when entering the house for the first time. After trying this a few times, and being frustrated, I went into the house and did not build any mannequins. I exited the house, did a save outside of the newly built HF house.
Then I removed this Mannequin improved mod, launched my latested save game in Skyrim AE. After it loaded, then I saved it again outside of the house. I shut down the game and cleaned the latest save again. No stacking errors, but a few others errors in the save from removing Mannequins Improved. I cleaned those errors in resaver, saved the game and closed out of the resaver app.
I launched the game again saved the saved game after it loaded. Then, I closed out of the game and checked resaver again. Still okay. No stacking errors or other problems.
I launched the game again and built the vanilla mannequin. It looked good and had the proper base. I put armor on it and it worked fine. I left the house and saved it again. I was expecting to have stacking errors again, but it didn't happen when I checked resaver.
My conclusion is that Mannequins Improved mod doesn't play well with USSEP, at all. It really hates the newest update of USEEP in my saves.
The latest USSEP update is fine with vanilla mannequins in vanilla homes and HF homes.
I'm not really thrilled about having to remove this mod, but I decided to give it a try. It seems to be okay. I'll continue to monitor this. I played about 1000 hours since installing this mod and never understood what was causing the stacking errors. It was and older version of USSEP.
AGAIN, in my game USEEP doesn't play well with this mod. It seems to work better with the older version, but I had a lot of issues until I updated USSEP and removed this mod.
I like the mod, in spite of my own struggles. I'm also a big fan of the mod author's work. I would just caution everyone to test this mod if you have USSEP. If you don't have the resaver app, get it and monitor your progress. Again, the newest version of USSEP should not generate the stacking errors, but it also causes issues with this mod. If you don't have USSEP, this mod is for you. If you do have USSEP, test the crap out of these mods before you play and advance your characters. After about 6 hours of gameplay, I'm still free of stacking errors and anything else that looks "bad."
It's going to take me a long time to fully recover from this. Thankfully, I only build HF in about one third of my character builds.
I believe that my scripts were also struggling. I downloaded an updated, script improvement mod earlier today it was posted a few months ago. I loaded it, but made sure NOT to include any werewolf scripts when I loaded it to prevent it from interfering with GROWL. I've played for about 12 hours today and haven't had ANY issues whatsoever. It's all good. The script mod really helped me out too. The scripts mod was Ultimate Optimized Scripts Compilation. It really cleaned things up for me. I did get some stacking issues after removing this mod and updating USSEP. I believe that it was because I probably have too many mods. I try to avoid script heavy mods, but when you have about 700 mods, the script burden is probably significant even if you're careful about what you add. The UOSC runs a lot more smoothly. No stacking issues after about 15 hours of play, other than that one time. Since adding the script optimizer, no issues to report.
I think this is the only mod that can have both male and female manequins lol EDIT: Is there a way for males to work with sam-light? Or even just have default bodies? My guy has a hole in his groin

But at the moment I need to sort some things, so it could take more time for this.
But I am on it.
thank you for your help
I'm annoyed by it too, considering that Hendraheim is the best house in my opinion, but it's something that we'll have to deal with.

This instance is attached to an object from HearthFires.esm.
There are 2 threads attached to this script instance.
- ]MannequinActivatorSCRIPT.ResetPosition()
- ]MannequinActivatorSCRIPT.OnLoad()
There are 2 stackframes with member data referring to this scriptinstance.
