Question, is it possible to configure the maximum number of spells or minimum required skill level? For my playthrough, these requirements are a little too challenging since some mods add utility spells that can't really be compromised on and forgotten.
I've just posted a quick and dirty update to accommodate your your request.
With the new version installed, you can type set SpecialistMinSkill to 50 (replacing 50 with your preferred skill level for specialization to activate) and set SpecialistMaxSpells to 5 (replacing 5 with your preferred number of spells that are allowed while maintaining specialization) in the console to customize spell specialist for your current playthrough.
For more permanent customization, you can use xEdit to adjust the values of the global variables in the plugin file, or create a new plugin which overrides the default values of the globals.
To update mid-game, you may also need to remove and then add the SpecialistMonitor spell (id FExxx800 where xxx is the ESL id of Spell Specialist.esp in your load order. You can also find the spell id using the console help command) on your character, using the player.removespell and player.addspell console commands.
Nice. It's kinda hard to get new spells in my game, both because of Spell tutor but also because I've made mages rare. More often than not I don't have more than a couple of spells learned.
Will try this out since it feels like a perfect pair with my game setup.
