About this mod

Apothecary's Food Addon has automatic support for Survival Mode (as well as mods that use its systems, such as SunHelm). Problem is, if a mod uses the Survival Spoof system for something other than food, you may end up with your food items reading "Restores xx points of Hunger" even though you don't have a hunger system on. This patch fixes that.

NOTICE

(This patch was deprecated by Apothecary v1.1.5 which removes built-in Survival Mode compatibility, having a dedicated patch for it instead. This file will stay on Nexus, untouched, for archival reasons, but Apothecary users shouldn't need it anymore.)

Apothecary
by Simon Magus and DeltaRider is a great alchemy/cooking mod, and its Food and Drink addon even supports Creation Club out of the box. Problem is, it naturally can't tell whether the player is using the actual Survival Mode, a mod that uses Survival Mode's Hunger system through the Survival Spoof method such as SunHelm, or a mod that spoofs Survival Mode without using its Hunger system, such as The Frozen North, which is the mod I discovered this issue with.

Because of that, using one such mod with Apothecary may end up causing your in-game food's description to read "Restores 2 points of Hunger", "Restores 60 points of Hunger" and so on, even though you're not playing with a Hunger system active. This ESL-flagged plugin fixes this issue, by replacing Skyrim's magic effect descriptions for Survival Mode food with blank ones, so the descriptions for food items will only display their effects added by Apothecary.

As of now, the only mod I found this issue with Apothecary was The Frozen North, which is why I'm listing it as a requirement but I'm sure there are other mods that cause this. Feel free to notify me in the Posts section if this patch helped you with another mod.

Also, Simon already mentioned he's probably fixing this himself in a future patch for Apothecary. In the event this happens, I'll keep this file up for archival purposes but notify that the issue is already solved in the original mod here in the description.

HOW TO INSTALL

Simply download and install it via your favorite manager (Mod Organizer 2 or Vortex). Manual installation is possible but not recommended, and assistance to manual installs by my part would be limited.

REQUIREMENTS & COMPATIBILITY

Technically, this plugin only edits vanilla records and requires only the base game, so it works without Apothecary and it being above or below Apothecary in your load order won't be an issue. But it will only be useful if you have a mod that is pulling up the Survival Mode Restore Hunger magic effects without using the Hunger system itself (So, yes, this patch might be useful for mods other than Apothecary, who knows).

Will conflict (and likely be incompatible) with mods that edit the vanilla magic effects Survival_FoodRestoreHungerVerySmall, Survival_FoodRestoreHungerSmall, Survival_FoodRestoreHungerMedium and Survival_FoodRestoreHungerLarge, found in Update.esm. If you're unsure, look for conflicts with XEdit.

Built with Apothecary version 1.1.4 and Apothecary - Food and Drink Addon version 1.0.2 in mind. Will work with both previous and future versions, but as previously mentioned as soon as a fix for this issue is implemented in Apothecary itself, this patch will become obsolete.

USAGE

Both mine and Simon's permissions are open, so feel free to add this fix to your own patch or mod, without need of prior approval.

SPECIAL THANKS

Simon and Aerin who helped me figure out this issue in no time at Simon's Discord, and put together this patch which may be of use to others.
