Gertrud is the daughter of a former warrior named Nisse, who was nicknamed the red steel blade. Nisse later settled in as a woodcutter, when his wife Silvia became pregnant, hidden in the forest somehere in Falkreath. Gertrud left home when she was 18. Later she was informed that her parents had been killed by a dragon. The parents hut burned to the ground. She can bee seen in Riverwood, where she awaits Dovahkiin's arrival.
