Custom Skills Framework recently updated to remove the .Net Script Framework requirement, so AE users can use custom skill mods without resorting to the Minimalistic Skill Menu mod. Any chance of this mod getting updated to work with the new version?
EDIT: Possibly never mind. Apparently most custom skill mods are backwards compatible with the new version. Haven't had a chance to test things myself yet, but hopefully this one will be to.
yea if you do that would be awesome. would give a "reward" to being the harbinger or finishing the questline. either way thanks for sharin the hard work
Maybe in the future. I am waiting for feedback on this modbefore I make any others. I want to know if it’s working for everyone at least. I would probably make one for the TG next. The College of Winterhold isn't as well defined as the other factions. Beyond being mages what are their defining characteristics? Getting their students blow up?
And to be honest I have never played the the DB questline. So I am not sure I am the right person to make their perk tree. I went for the companions because I am big fan of them as a faction.
The Dark Brotherhood is surprisingly good to do once-- I have a hard time playing evil characters.
My game has issues so I haven't gotten to play up to this yet-- my one piece of feedback would be to add more ranks. I think when people look for custom perk trees, they are mostly looking for somewhere to spam extra perk points.
For example, if they use a mod that gives them perk points for X and find that fun, but eventually it means too many perk points.
So what you have right now seems very balanced, but if you broke it up into 2/3 levels of each perk that ended up a tiny bit more powerful than what you have now.
It's a tough balance though because I think you nailed it in terms of adding this to a vanilla or vanilla+ perk tree, but a heavily modded game might ask for more. And I'm sure people don't feel like maintaining two versions of each custom tree.
That's actually the exact reason I downloaded the Vigilant perk tree. Though I didn't really make this one with that in mind when I made this one. This was meant to be more narrow or focused. I don't know. I could probably make a TG or Stormcloacks perk tree which were massive perk point sinks.
I would love to see a thieves guild and mages guild perk tree to balance out the buffs to warriors from this mod. I was going to suggest you make those because I wouldn't want to have my warrior be OP compared to a thief or mage archetype character. I'll have to wait to download to see if you make those mods.
Some suggestions for Mages Guild perk tree: Mages guild is all about uncovering lost knowledge, so maybe a perk that gives bonuses for each skill book/normal book read, daedric artifact equipped, or standing stone found. Knowledge of the arcane arts could give magic resistance/absorption similar to Breton's dragonskin racial. Knowledge of enchanting and alchemy skills could give benefits to weapon recharging, enchantment strength, potion creation, or plant gathering. Relations with the Psijic Order could give a passive time slow effect during combat or active power. A perk to increase benefits given by Dragon Priest masks could make them more viable compared to crafting enchanted circlets. You could also create similar perks to the companion perks but adapted for mages like the mead fetcher perk, except merchants that sell books for mages.
Well this mod doesn't make warriors OP though? Perks point are a limited commity. If you spend perk points on the perks from this skill tree you would have to give up spending them on other perks. That would likely be better as the perks from this tree are a bit worse on average then vanilla perks.
They're both partially voiced mods. I still recommend them though as DreamKingmods is as talented a writer as you will find in the modding community. And yes sadly neither of them have been ported to SSE, but they're both fairly easy to port. Its the same process as porting any mods with a ESP and BSA. With no special steps.

As well as plenty of mods to overhaul its existing skill tree.
