I honestly think the mannequins moving around are pretty funny. The first time I noticed it happening it was kind of out of the corner of my eye and I swung around to look at it, no movement, thought I was crazy, went back to doing whatever, there it goes again, swung around, nothing... Kept happening like that for a long time until I finally installed a huge player home with like 20 mannequins and they were all just moving around like they were bored or something. That's when I knew I wasn't crazy! haha
Hi. I'm trying to fix a mod's mannequin's and they're not the race ManakinRace.
They move around a lot sadly.
It's using DefaultMasterPackageListAllowWander package list and MannequinStay package. Most also have the MannequinActivatorSCRIPT, but not all. They're all listed as NPC's.
I'm imagining taking out the AllowWander won't just fix it, and I have no idea what I'm doing. Any suggestions?
Alright, so I am going to cautiously say that it seems to do no harm at least, however I have not put it to extensive testing yet therefore I will not declare with 100% confidence that it does indeed work. Mannequins Stay Put also seemed to work at first, until it turned out it doesn't, at least not all the time. So I will remain somewhat reserved... for now.
However I will endorse this mod for good measure. It needs more exposure and more people testing this out.
Thanks :D and yeah i dont like to count my chickens before they hatch but fingers crossed they dont decide to get antsy after a few days and start stretching their legs... pesky mannequins.
I assume this is because the mannequins are no longer trying to move, with a lot of mannequins in a cell i would notice they would move when im not looking at them, probably taking some of your pc's power, and if your pc isnt great then that may show improvements in the performance.
You know, it's been over 2 years and I've been using this solution since, and I actually forgot about this post. Yes, it works. Yes, even damned Bethesda finally saw the light and set the flag (though I stubbornly keep downgrading to 1.5.97 even today because of reasons). I don't know if you're still going to read this, but know that, through the power of Conjuration, I have raised this corpse of a comment to let you know that you were right.
You were right, Luke. Tell your sister... you were right.
Honest question here, what does this mod do that simply opening the console and typing TAI on the mannequin doesn't? With the AI turned off, they can't move, but you still have full access to their inventory allowing you to put your armour on them.
I would recommend to anyone starting a new game to just delete these immersion wrecking abominations. There is another mod that can do that. This mod is not a perfect solution and will break mannequins badly in mods like Legacy of the Dragonborn. There is a patch for that, but at least for me that doesn't work. Now wishing I had just nuked these things out of my game.
How TF this was never fixed by Bethesda or even the USSEP or any other bug fixes mods?! This has been a problem since Skyrim came out, and recently I got back to playing it and keep noticing mannequins constantly changing locations in the houses. To the point it pissed me off enough to come look for a fix. I have pretty much all the popular bug fix mods available and I cant believe I still see it happening in my game.
This right here is PRECISELY what got me to dig around in the Creation engine, i really hope this sorts it for you :) for me its fixed the problem pretty much entirely.
