Do you know if still exists an incompatibility betweenKaidan 2 and Drinking Fountains there is some conflict with the "Autumnwatch Lodge" the mod adds near Ivarstead, resulting in CTD whenever you get near the town. Could you do a patch ?
Its technically not a bug. The patch I made is not for that version of the Enhanced Solitude. When I make a build using that version of the Enhanced Solitude mod, I will make a patch.
Apologies for the late response. I've been out of pocket so to speak. The icicles are vanilla assets found in the CK. All I did was resize them. I currently don't have Skyrim installed. When I return to it, I will make a patch for the original mod that only adds the miniaturized icicles where appropriate. That is, if someone else hasn't already done so
I've never used Icy Windhelm because earlier versions didn't support Capital Windhelm Expansion (forcing me to make yet another patch). So, I held off on installing it. As of 15 Nov, Icy Windhelm's does support CWE. I'll add it to my next play through and I'll make a patch then.
Its been a long time since I made these patches, and I'm currently not playing Skyrim (I don't even have it installed). I don't believe that the original Drinking Fountains of Skyrim for SSE mod ever placed any fountains in Winterhold either.
I try to keep my game/mods immersivity based in the Elder Scrolls lore. According to the lore, Winterhold is in a perpetually frozen climate (hence its name). Without the arcane knowledge of the past, and the populace's distrust of the college, the city should remain in such a state. Thus, man-made plumbing conveniences would also be permanently frozen or non-existent. So, I've never bothered to make a patch placing water fountains in that city.
I'm using Drinking Fountains of Skyrim for SSE - iNeed Patch (for the DFoS ESL Version). Turning the ESP to ESL. (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/28002) Is there a way to have it trace to/link the ESL, not the ESP? I've tried under CK, and Wrybash, but it seems I'm too ignorant to figure it out. Enhanced Solitude
I think you are asking about a few different things.
For the iNeed patch: The iNeed patch does not convert/change the file extension from .esp to .esl. Don't waste time converting your files to make the one you downloaded wotk. Just download the iNeed Patch that matches the version of the Drinking Fountains plug-in extension that you installed. For example:
If you chose the "ESP" install then you need to use the file: Drinking Fountains of Skyrim for SSE - iNeed Patch (for the DFoS ESP Version)
If you chose the "ESL" install then you need to use the file: Drinking Fountains of Skyrim for SSE - iNeed Patch (for the DFoS ESL Version)
If you chose the "ESPFE/ESPL" then you need to use the file: Drinking Fountains of Skyrim for SSE - iNeed Patch (for the DFoS ESPFE Version)
I'm not the mod author for the iNeed patch. You might get a better answer on it's mod page.
If my patches are not working for you: Its because during the Drinking Fountains install I chose the ESPFE/ESPL install (an ESPFE/ESPL is an .esp extension that is flagged as an .esl - it does not count towards the file limit). The reason I chose this format during Drinking Fountains install because many mods still look for the "Drinking Fountains for Skyrim for SSE.esp" An example of this is illustrated in the conversation with Starfis immediately below.
If you still want to attempt to edit the "master" requirements for my patches, try using xEdit (I use SSEEdit).
Which version of the Fountains did you use? ESP/ESPL/ESL?
You are probably not using it, because then you would have already created a patch, but if you would be so kind, the Capital Windhelm Expansion would need a patch since the fountain in front of the Candlehearth Hall is submerged into the nordic statue.
Note to self: don't mod or post web pages in the midnight hour, you will forget things...
I made the patch for the file: Drinking fountains of Skyrim for SSE - 1.5
If I used the other file, the patches would have all been for JK's Skyrim. Speaking of which, if anyone does use JK's Skyrim and Drinking Fountains together, Glanzer posted a link to patches for them (see the comments section on the Drinking Fountains mod page).
I do use Capital Windhelm Expansion. I have no idea how many times I ran past that and never noticed xD Expect a patch for it soon. I am currently working two other patch projects.
OK great, now when I know you are going to create the patch I can add more suggestions , but they are all related to the Windhelm Expansion. The fountain in front of the palace is covered in snowdrift it is accessible, but it doesn't make much sense. Maybe you could add a new fountain to the New Gnisis Cornerclub and the new tavern and meadery added by the Expansion, I can't remember the name of right now.
I was almost sure you used the 1.5, my concern was if you used the light esl plugin or the esp flagged as light plugin, they are not the same, some patches doesn't work with the one or another. (I personally use the light flagged esp which works with patch for SunHelm) I should have worded it differently.
I see what you mean about the snow drift and the fountain.
Honestly, none of the fountains in Dawnstar, Windhelm, and Winterhold should work. Just like the wheel house outside Windhelm in the Yorgrim river, they should all be frozen solid.
For immersion, I will try to move the fountains next to sources of heat.
I had trouble finding a place in the Grey Quarter. Its very tight in there. I could not place it at the New Gnisis Corner Club without it looking strange or affecting NPC idle location, quests, etc. Nobody wants NPCs getting stuck, or behaving strangely. So, I placed it at the entrance to the Grey Quarter. The same goes for the fountain at the Blue Palace. Ludochan did a great job and placed in the most optimal location.

In the mean time, have you tried this: Patch - Drinking Fountains of Skyrim -- Dawn of Skyrim
I don't know if you're taking suggestions, but Icy Windhelm needs a patch, the fountain is under a pile of snow otherwise

I hope this helps in some way.
