About this mod

Standardizes food and drink in a 3-tier system. Survival mode compatibility available. ESL Flagged (ESP-FE).

Note: No longer supported. I recommend Gourmet - A Cooking Overhaul as a better alternative.

Gourmet - Food of Skyrim

Features:
  • All food and drink stats and effects have been changed.
  • Food and drink effects are now tiered and standardized, including price and weight (since the weight is standardized, it doesn't always make sense or is actually heavier than vanilla, so there's an optional "Vanilla Weight" version available).
  • Vegetables, bread and cheese affect stamina. Meat affects health. Alcohol, sweets and pies affect magicka.
  • Not everything provides effects. Some basic and common foods are simply labeled as raw ingredients or have flavor text, and must be cooked to provide stats.
  • Buffs of different categories (health, stamina, magicka) do stack, but you can only have one buff from each category, and higher tier buffs will replace lower tier buffs, but not vise-versa.
  • Homecooked Meal is unchanged (for now) except for the duration, and does stack with all other food and drink buffs.
  • All buffs last 1 hour (real time).

Tiers:
  • Tier 1: +10 Resource and +15% Regen, 25 Septims, 0.25 Weight, Small Hunger Restore (Survival).
  • Tier 2: +20 Resource and +30% Regen, 50 Septims, 0.5 Weight, Medium Hunger Restore (Survival).
  • Tier 3: +30 Resource and +45% Regen, 100 Septims, 1.0 Weight, Large Hunger Restore (Survival).
  • Ingredients and Raw Food: No buff, 10 Septims, 0.1 Weight. No Hunger Restore (Survival).

Notes:
  • I tried my best to assign each item to an appropriate tier. It got a little tricky when it came to DLC alcohol. Feedback is welcome.
  • I recommend using a mod that reduces the amount of food and alcohol found in the world, thus limiting easy access to these buffs a bit and making them more meaningful. "You Hunger" is a good one that I personally use.
  • I semi-tested with iNeed and it seemed to work. I haven't added any keywords to foods, so I don't know if this will work with other "Needs" mods.
  • Flagged ESL (ESP-FE).
  • USSEP changes are included.

Updates:
1.2.3 - Swapped stats for Sliced Cheese and Cheese Wedge. Didn't realize I gave the higher stats to the smaller portion.
1.2.2 - Fixed Firebrand Wine's vendor cost, wasn't set to not auto-calculate.
1.2.1 - (Survival Mode versions only) Fixed Charred Skeever Meat hunger restore from very small to medium.
1.2 - Added a few more missing things, and added a compatibility version for Survival Mode.
1.1 - Added some missing food and drink, and changed their effects.
