Really like the idea. However I noticed that it doesn't work with Ordinator. It has a perk Force Redoubled (chance to reduce shout cooldown to 3 seconds). Your mod doesn't detect this perk and the notification sound only plays when the default cooldown (like 11 seconds) expires even though the shout is ready.
While we at it. Would you be able to make a UI mod that simply displays a countdown in exact numbers (second by second) of when the shout is ready? I just don't like the vanilla and other modded implementations when you have to take a peek at the compass or some other ball that's changing colors. Your sound notification is already a big improvement though.
I believe it will only load "Data/sound/fx/ShoutCooldowns/custom.wav" as it's an actual Form in the .esp, you'll have to replace that file directly. I've been looking at this mod again as I need to make an MCM and I barely even remember how it works!
Hey, just wanted to say thanks. I use Compass Navigation Overhaul and one of its longstanding unaddressed bugs is that vanilla shout cooldown notifications no longer work when it's active. Now, I can get my shout cooldown notifications your improved way, instead. Tops.
Also, your mod also works perfectly when compactified for ESL.
Good to know it's still working! My 1 regret is not making profile settings so that you don't have to set it up for every character. Coding MCM menus is really not fun though.
Now the only thing left in my "vr experience wishlist" is a poison notification color overlay. Like your vision is green for the duration of the poison.
I've been trying to roll my own solution, inspired by this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26751 No luck so far, but I think your mod might be a better resource/inspiration for this. Especially with the stages of cooldown.
Cool, glad someone else found it useful! I hope the huge settings page isn't off-putting.
A poison indicator would definitely be doable, it's pretty simple to apply Imagespace Modifiers. Hopefully there would be a keyword for the poison effect so that you don't have to keep a list of all the possible poisons. You could make a case for a general purpose buff/debuff visual effect mod... but that could end up with even more menus than this one :)
I'd like to take a look at implementing this myself but I am pretty busy with school and other projects right now so I won't make any promises. Cheers!
I love this concept as I never notice whatever vanilla does to tell you your shout is ready. That said, can you expand your description on what the stages are for and why we'd use them? I get notify me when the shout is ready and here's how, but not sure I understand the other options.
The video demonstrates it pretty well- playing a different "charge up" sound at 75%, 50%, 25% and 0 cooldown time remaining. I imagined it would be useful for shouts with really long cooldowns, so you can get a better idea of how long you have to wait and plan your tactics accordingly. Personally, I've just been using a single stage, but I haven't unlocked many shouts yet. You can set the number of stages to 1 and forget about the other options if you want.

Thank you so much for creating it! :)
