About this mod

This is my first real mod, made more so as a test to myself, than anything. However, I think it came out pretty cool. I'm mainly sharing here as a way to gain modding experience as well though, so please dont be upset if something goes wrong, just tell me so I can learn more and get better. I'm open to any suggestions and knowledge. Thank you.

This mod adds 2 new spells to the game. They are called Shadefire Lesser and Shadefire Greater
What is Shadefire? I took inspiration from the book 'Eragon', in which there is a character called a Shade who uses dark sorcery to conjure red flames. I plan to make a follower based on this character later, but for now I just made these spells for my current playthough as him myself.

Shadefire Lesser
 is an aimed spell, similar to Fireball. However I switched to red VFX for the explosion and projectile. It does a percentage of damage based on your Destruction skill level and perks, plus area damage in a 200 foot radius from wherever it hits.

Shadefire Greater is a self centered explosion of fire, like Firestorm, but again I changed the VFX to be red colored and unique. It does the same kind of damage as the previous, a percentage based on your level/perks, and area damage in a 300 foot radius.

Both spells disallow magicka/damage absorption, but fire resistance is allowed. (not that it matters much)

The spells are massively overpowered, and honestly might be game breaking for some of you. But that was the point, tbh. (A Shade is basically a sorcerer that is possessed by legions of evil spirits, so.. lol) I tried to set a higher magicka cost to somewhat balance this out, but again depending on your skills, perks and gear, you can reduce the cost as with all spells.

These spells should only be usable by the player character. You probably could use another mod like AFT to teach them to a follower or something, but I'd highly advise not to. These spells are really far reaching and they do harm anyone caught in the blast radius.

Recommended mainly for evil based characters where you don't care who/what you might accidentally kill. 
(If anyone can tell me how to set them to only harm hostile actors, that would be awesome and I'll change it asap)

To find the Spell Tomes, you will need to go to the Glenmoril Coven cave. I felt that was probably the best lore friendly-ish location to obtain them for now. They will be in the main chest at the end. Alternatively, you should be able to just add them using AdditemMenu. 





I only used vanilla assets for this mod.

I recommend you to use Frozen Electrocuted Combustion for its burning after effect, as seen in my images.

Known Issues:
The Shadefire Lesser spell description says it has a magicka cost per second, this is incorrect. It actually has a flat magicka cost. However, the charge speed of the spell is instant, allowing you to spam it if you want to, so I guess technically it can be a cost per second if you choose to use it that way.

*I do plan to expand on this, definitely making a follower and more spells, and hopefully adding some kind of quest to obtain the spells, etc. But that will take a while for me to get better at modding, more practice, etc. If you do decide to download, please let me know what you think.
