Sorry I totally missed this comment. You probably found your answer if you were building a modlist but I'll attempt a reply. I think it will help, I honestly don't know how it works with BOS mods. Best case it'll go as expected, worst case it shouldn't be too jarring as the buildings are in the same place.
Does anyone know if this works with Arthmoor's Falkreath? That's also an exterior overhaul, so I'm worried it might conflict with this. It looks great! Falkreath is really the only city I have left that feels like it needs some love.
Hello, I love it but I am not sure if it's a conflict but the new textures seem to apply inconsistently to the town. As shown in these screen shots... some houses are still vanilla farmhouses, some are a hybrid mix and some are entirely yours. I use wizkid parallax farmhouses
Is this intended? I do use Capital of Falkreath which does add walls and stockades but no new buildings. I do use It Beats for Her, which does add one additional house, so it's too be expected that'd still be vanilla.
edit: I believe it's because farmhouse01 is not swapped out ... and it seems I over assumed the scope of the mod as it doesn't swap out a few of the textures so the meshes will use whatever you have installed. I may expand on this!
Hopefully I haven't uploaded an incomplete version of the mod this whole time without farmhouse01, swore everything was working in my game. I'm pretty rusty on modding so lost my ability to take one look and say "X happened because Y".
Any mods that add new buildings SHOULD work in the BOS version. If you're not using the BOS then I'd assume even the other buildings is a conflict thing, because other mods could add back the vanilla buildings.
Not sure what you mean by 'normal texture', if you know how to replace the textures or edit meshes you can do that as much as you like, and as for if they use 'normal maps' they should be using whatever you had installed before. :)
Yeh, normal map. the _n for woodpost01 appears to be missing, so it'll use vanilla or whichever other mod textures are installed. It'll end up with a mismatched normal map for the diffuse.
I've been together a revamped / expanded version of this mod. I'll be uploading with credit to you. If a normal map exists for the wood post that'd be sweet!
I don't *think* I made one but iirc I use vanilla textures as the primary layer so feel free to make or generate one. And yeah my asset permissions are open do whatever.
Thanks. I'll have a look at the vanilla ones/cleaned ones.
Also, here ye be. Unique Culture Falkreath II ... You were credited and will receive a share of of the DP along with the other authors assets that were included.
That is a good question actually, I have no idea how that mod works, if it can dynamically add snow shader to things then no issue, but I assume by some mods having patches it isn't so simple. I'll look into it soon.
I used your 2021 version for Colovianizing Falkreath and it worked fine. I have a new computer (lost a lot of filles in the death of the old one) and now you require something called a Base Object Swapper, which I looked at; it seems like it needs much more expertise than I have, messing with ini files, whatever they are. If I can't install it by just downloading it on Vortex, choosing the options, and checking the ordering, it is not going to happen. Is there no alternative?
The optional file looks really awesome in your pictures but unfortunately when I use it I believe for some reason the plaster uses the normal maps of the original textures (buildings textures appear correct but have an overlay of vertical planks or plaster stone bricks shading respectively). I can attach an image but for now I am just using the main version. Not sure most versed in texture maps and stuff so that's just my guess. Perhaps this is an overlooked thing but it seems like a fairly simple fix on either end. I use JK's Skyrim and am making sure your mod is winning texture/mesh conflicts in MO2! Gonna try to rename a blank image to riverwoodplaster_n.dds and maybe that will work, and if not I will check nifskope. Anyone else had this issue/know a fix?
Lovely mod! Not to hate on the amazing overhauls other mod creators have made for Falkreath, but they require so many patches and conflict with many quests and house mods I like. I appreciate your work
Would it be possible to get a Nordic Forest Alt Version for Falkreath as well? It's my favorite look but I find it to be more fitting for falkreath than riverwood.
I'm glad you like it! Yeah I could probably do that when I remember. Though in the meantime you should be able to copy over and rename the textures you want to swap out fairly easily. Even more so if you happen to have nifskope but not everyone would.
I made an attempt at replacing Midwood Isles buildings with these. Here's my ESP so far: https://www.dropbox.com/s/j9fhhlfzq6gyoya/Midwood%20Isle%20uses%20Unique%20Culture%20Falkreath.esp?dl=0 (requires both Midwood Isle and this mod loaded before it)
I think all that's missing are replacements for: Farmhouse01 Farmhouse05 Farmhouse06 FarmLumbermill01
After that Midwood Isle exteriors should be totally upgraded!
Been super busy but I'll check that out soon, cool of you to do. Not sure what I'd do with it, maybe an optional file. I give permission to upload stuff like that by the way. Also missing models can always be texture swapped as stand-ins for more dedicated replacements as I couldn't UV in the slightest when I published my stuff.

Edit to add, parts of it have changed but most of the houses and the inn are still exactly the same.

Do you have a normal texture for the wood post?

For future reference iirc BOS' installation goes AE latest, AE old, and SE, if you're on latest Skyrim patch you always just go with largest number.
That said by all means, the old version of my mod is still on here, go to Files and then look under Old Files.
Endorsed regardless, thanks for the sweet mod!
thx!

The mod is great but not overly immersive to see mythical sun Elves living in your standard nordic farmhouse.
