About this mod
This mod lets you alter the level at which the quest DA03, "A Daedra's Best Friend", starts. This a quick and dirty way to get around the guards who force-greet you at level 10. Use it wisely.

This mod alters the dialogue conditions for DA03, "A Daedra's Best Friend", so the quest doesn't start when you enter Falkreath at level 10.
MAIN VERSION:
By default, the dialogue is conditioned to start the quest at level 25, but you can change that by opening the console and typing
set jknjbDA03StartLevel to XXX
where XXX is the level you want to start at, or by opening the mod in xEdit and changing the value of jknjbDA03StartLevel to be whatever you want.
OPTIONAL VERSION:
For this version, dialogue is conditioned to not start the quest until you set the global to a number greater than 0. When you're ready to start the quest, open the console and type
set jknjbDA03StartLevel to XXX
where XXX is the level you want to start at, or by opening the mod in xEdit and changing the value of jknjbDA03StartLevel to be whatever you want, so long as it is greater than 0.
You can change this at any point up until you've actually started the quest (it appears in your quest journal).
This a quick and dirty way to get around having to avoid Falkreath and all the guards who force-greet you if you want to delay or outright skip the quest and not have it in your journal. It is NOT an overhaul of the entire quest. Use it appropriately.

INSTALLATION:
Use your mod manager of choice. It should be safe to install mid-game, though there's no reason to use it if you've already completed "A Daedra's Best Friend."
UNINSTALLATION:
There are no scripts; in theory you can uninstall it, but it's not a good idea to remove mods from your load order mid-game and I won't support any issues you have if you do that. Besides, this mod is marked as an ESPFE, so it's not taking a full slot anyway.
SWITCHING VERSIONS MID-GAME:
It should be fine to switch from version 1.0 to 1.0B mid-game as long as "A Daedra's Best Friend" has not started. The mod has no scripts, it just alters dialogue conditions and adds a global variable. If you do switch versions mid-game, you may need to change the global variable value,
jknjbDA03StartLevel
If you want to delay the quest indefinitely, change the value to 0. If you want to change it to start at a specific level, change the value to that level.
Once you've started the quest DO NOT CHANGE THE LEVEL.
DO NOT CHANGE THE LEVEL ONCE THE QUEST APPEARS IN YOUR JOURNAL.
COMPATIBILITY:
Should be fine anywhere in your load order, so long as there's not another mod doing the same thing.
"There is No Umbra - Chapter II" (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/47302) is compatible with this mod. I haven't played "There is No Umbra - Chapter III" so I don't know for certain if it's still compatible. Should be, unless Chapter III changes the interaction with Barbas.
Let me know if there are compatibility issues.
