Arenas of Skyrim

Description

This mod has been a side project, for me, for some time and I'm happy that I finally have version that can be released to the public. I present you: "Arenas of Skyrim". I've seen a lot of peoples take on the challenge of adding an Arena system into Skyrim and while they all are great mods I always felt like that were something missing in them, or something just doesn't felt right for me. So when I was starting building my own mod, I asked myself "Robin, what do you want in an Arena mod?", the answer to that, for me was pretty simple, I want to go into the Arena and I want make some money by bashing some skulls in. And what do you do when not bashing skulls in? You watch other people bash each others skulls in and make some money by betting, who will be left standing.

Features

Windhelm Arena
  • 5 different kinds of repeatable NPC's fights from 1v1 fights to 4 man free for all and 3v1 handicap fights
  • NPC's fight you can bet on
  • 5 Arena ranks you can gain by winig more challenging unique "Rank Up" Fights

Riften Arena
  • 6 different kinds of repeatable beast fights from wolves to trolls
  • NPC's fight you can bet on
  • 5 Arena ranks you can gain by winig more challenging unique "Rank Up" Fights
  • Spike Pit's that you can use against your enemies, if you are clever enough

Markarth Arena
  • A new kind of fight: Timer fights aka Kill all enemies in less than X seconds
  • Traps...
  • NPC's fight you can bet on

Whiteurn Arena
  • A new kind of Fight: Wave Fights, defeat as many waves of Enemies as possible

On gaining an new Arena Rank:

All the standard fights are randomized after you won your first five fights in an Arena, you will get your first rank up Quest, after finishing a Rank Up Quest you should get a new one after roughly every five standard Arena fights won (The fights are counted separately, so winning 5 fights in Windhelm only allows you to take the rank up quest in Windhelm not the one for Riften). There are different ranks for Windhelm and Riften, so we have got 10 total Rank Up Quest (5 for Riften and 5 for Windhelm),
Difficulty:

There are a lot of mods out there that changes the difficulty of Enemies encounters combining that with the different combat and skills overhauls make it nearly impossible to add any kind of difficulty balancing. I tried to make the standard fights mostly fair, while some are pretty easy (e.g. 1v1 fights) some can be a bit more difficult (e.g. 3v1 handicap fights). But the "Rank up" Quest are supposed to be a bit more challenging experience. So overall the mod is balanced around giving me a good challenge, when I play on my own set up, which means some fights can feel to difficult or to easy on your builds, (e.g. the humanoid bosses will fell pretty underwhelming on vanilla) so please refrain from going to the comments to complain about this mod being unbalanced. The Arena in Whiterun is supposed to be endgame content, let's see how many low leveled grunts you can deal with.

Compatibility
Pit Fight - Fully Compatible
JK Skyrim, Dawn of Skyrim Directors Cut, Epic Windhelm Expansion, Capital Windhelm Expansion, Capital Whiterun Expansion - patch provided

Most Mods should be compatible, so as they don't place anything in front of the Arena entrance

Future Plans
  • More generic Arena Spectator faces (so it you want see the same person to often)
  • Rank Up Systems for Markarth & Whiterun
  • Converting Windhelm & Riften to the new improved Arena System used for Markarth

Known Bugs/ Issues
  • Enemies fading into few few or you can see small flashes of enemies before they are moved to their starting position
  • The enemies in Whiterun get stuck on the ledge from time to time, moving into a spot where you can't see them fixes that issue, normally.
  • If you are using a mod that replaces the guard armor meshes and/or textures, the fighters in Windhelm may wear the "wrong" Armor aka Grenn Fighters wears Dwemer Style armor and now looks like he's the yellow fighter.
Special Thanks to Eli for Beta Testing =)
