Thank you so much for this!! For some reason my vampire face texture was missing (not that I wanted the default one anyway haha) and this saved me from being a scary faceless vampire with floating teeth and hair.
I was able to actually immerse myself in my first vampire playthrough ever last night because of it. I use Racemenu and the "A Change of Face" book to be able to change my cosmetic appearance mid-playthrough whenever I want. I like that this mod allows me to retain my normal nord looking face after becoming a vampire. I can't help but wonder about my eyes though. I can't change them with racemenu and so even though I have my normal looking nord preset face that I made, I have these red fireball vampire eyes. I can't change them with the book because they just revert back. Whenever I download a mod that "unlocks" or "fixes" the vampire eyes to allow me to use normal ones it seems to cancel out this mod. So I either have normal eyes and a creepy vampire goblin face OR I have vampire eyes and a normal human face. Is there anyway to have the best of both worlds without running "High-Poly Head" ?
try https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/71613 fixed it for me at least. Sometimes after installing the mod you will still have black eyes but just type "showracemenu" if on pc and select the eye color you want. Everything should be all good. Note that you might need to do it again when reverting from vampire lord sometimes.
So does this only affect the player or NPC's aswell? Cause in your description you wrote "some vampires ignore changes from this mod." What exactly did that mean? I only want my player face to not be changed.
It's kinda funny. Some people try their best to get rid of that distorted "bat-like" vampire face and I'm sitting here, wondering how I to get it.
When dawnguard first came out, I also was like "uh that's ugly, why did you do that", but in my last 2 vamp-playthroughs i was more like "why don't I get that face? Is it because of the race? Is it because of a mod that changes the face without my knowledge?"
In my eyes, the face just needs some improvement, (there was one for oldrim, but I can't find one for SE...)
In my experience, most skin texture mods will stop this from happening. I also think it's a cool feature, but it would make more sense if the faces only looked like this on starving vampires. Otherwise everyone would be able to tell who is and who isn't a vampire immediately.
Thank you for this. A question if I may, will this also prevent the hairstyles and eyebrows from reverting? I'm unable to check for a while and I've been searching for a mod that keeps the hair style from reverting back to the original.

Thank you!
I don't know if this mod will help that or not.
I've been able to, slightly, prevent this by using racemenu, changing my appearance, saving the game, then leaving and rejoining. (not to desktop)
But this is without using the mod, so idk if this fixes that whole hassle.
