Hi everyone! Thanks for all the incredible support & helpful feedback! I thought it might be useful to add a sticky post with a short FAQ, notes, updates, and other recommendations. I'll try to update this sporadically.

    Frequently Asked Questions:

Does this mod use an .esp plug-in? I can't find it!
    READ THE MOD DESCRIPTION

Where are the weapon replacements? Are there other options for the Ebony/Daedric/etc. armors?
    READ THE MOD DESCRIPTION

This looks a lot like other armor mods I've seen - what does it do?
    READ THE MOD DESCRIPTION

    Will you make a FOMOD?

I hope to eventually! But unfortunately it is not my current priority for a few reasons: 1) I want to focus on some other armor/weapons/clothes replacements first. 2) I have limited time due to other responsibilities 3) most importantly, many meshes use textures from multiple folders and I did not change their default. So unless there is a program which can pull the assigned texture paths from the .NIF files (PM me if so!) I would have to go through each mesh manually.

    Will you make this modular?
That is an eventual goal - but see my previous answer. For now, I recommend just deleting or overwriting any meshes you do not want to use.

    I have ____ problem with Bodyslide/CBBE/etc.
I don't use those mods myself, so they are not officially supported. Again, this is intended as a simple, minimal, drop-in replacer for Vanilla.
As stated below, I am happy to host any user-made modifications or patches, though.

Why isn't _____ armor showing up properly? / Why is my head invisible?
You probably have a mod which changes the default mesh path from Vanilla, or one which changes the slots the armor uses. (In the latter case, one solution might be to change the mesh slots in NIFScope to match those assigned by the .esp)

    Will you make a patch for Open-Face Helmets/____ Guards / ____ Body/ [Other] mod?
No, not anytime soon. Mostly because: 1) I don't use many of these mods. 2) I have other responsibilities, so I have to choose between if I want to learn to use the CK to create proper patches for specific mods, or try to create more content when I can 3) my copy of the CK isn't currently working.

Will you make stand-alone (non-replacer) versions?
No, see above. But, many of the original mods are stand-alone - and I highly recommend you check them out!

    Can *I* make a patch for Open-Face Helmets/____ Guards / ____ Body / [Other] mod?

Absolutely! And I will be happy to host it here with full credit to you. Unfortunately, since my mods use assets from different sources, I cannot give permission for file redistribition. But, that being said - get in touch with me. I'm happy to let you know where the original assets come from, and if the creators are OK with it then so am I.

Are you doing DLC content as well?
Possibly! It depends entirely on  1) what armors I can find that others have created which are of suitable quality/style, 2) which ones I can get permission to use, 3) and if I think they can easily be edited/retextured to match. Also, I'm embarrassed to say that I have still not made it to the DLC content after all these years playing off-and-on, so I am mostly unfamilar with the armors apart from the Nordic Carved armor, Dawnguard, etc.

    Updates:
EDIT: April 2021 - I've put a lot of work into this and have other things I need to focus on, so I will be take an extended and indefinite break for the foreseeable future. I feel like this mod is in a good state to leave as-is for now.

Thanks for the continued support and appreciation!!

December, 2021: Update Regarding Ports / Patches Etc:

I've received many requests for permission to port my mods and their assets to other platforms, or to upload improvements/patches etc. I give permission for reuse only if you have obtained permission of the original creators and under the following conditions:

    • You MUST have explicit approval of the original asset authors or otherwise confirm that they allow you to reuse/port their work as per their terms of use. This is your responsibility. I did not seek or obtain permission for further reuse or porting of any assets beyond the inclusion in my own mod, and therefore my permission can only be given for my own work in editing/compiling the mod assets.
    • You MUST link back to this mod and fully credit myself & the original authors as creators.
    • You may NOT use my mods, their contents, or included assets to create paid or otherwise for-profit content (this includes donations and the Nexus Rewards Program). This is intended as a free creation building on the excellent work of many others in the community.

    Misc. Recommendations:

Alternate Guard Mods to consider: Varied Guard Armor SE - Vanilla Mashup - ReplacerGuard Armor Meshup, Guards Armor Replacer SSE, Heavy Legion SSE, The Draconic Legion - A New Era.

    Other amazing clothes/armor: https://sforzmods.tumblr.com/ & https://skyrimfuckery.tumblr.com/

For my own game, I also use some replacers that I unfortunately do not have permission to redistribute. They work perfectly if you rename the files to overwrite vanilla - and I recommend them! The Vanilla game uses a system to automatically replace textures on a single mesh, like with the guard armor. This means that for these to work, you need to rename them to replace both the Vanilla textures & meshes (choose the texture that best fits the original color, etc.) I also changed the texture path in NIFScope to match, but I am not certain if this is necessary

    These mods are as follows:
    Forsworn - Wildling Fur Armor
Noble Clothes - Colovian Noble Clothes & Imperial Fine Clothes
    Draugr -
Creation Club Zombies (slightly retextured). (Yes, it actually works, just replace the models. It might require some experimenting to avoid excessive clipping with armor, beards, etc. But it does give a fresh look to things.)

RE:  Message for users of Bodyslide and Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer - CBBE (Courtesy of Tetrol88)

When Bodyslide is run with "Caliente's Beautiful Bodies Enhancer - CBBE" installed, meshes for all of the female vanilla armours are processed. These are pulled from vanilla resources and will overwrite modified meshes, reverting all female models back to vanilla. Hence female players and NPCs will have vanilla meshes while males (not affected by CBBE) will keep their new meshes. The meshes are refreshed whenever BS is run, so replacing the meshes within the CBBE mesh directory will not work - it simply pulls vanilla ones back from Skyrim.esm (I suspect).

One fix is to uncheck each "CBBE Vanilla" armour type in the Bodyslide pop-up eg "CBBE Vanilla - Body Fur 1 (Physics)" - that's one check box for each armour piece of each affected armour type (body, feet, hands - and hoods for those with hoods, but no helms) The bad news is that it doesn't remember your settings and has to be redone whenever BS is run again. The entire CBBE Vanilla GROUP can be disabled, but there are MANY armour/clothes that do not cross over, and all of those would be lost. Another alternative is to reinstall all the Simply Realistic Armors after any BS run.

Actually the best option would be go under options on Bodyslide and select an output (MO2 users should put the overwrite path, Vortex can put anywere ) run Bodyslide with just the CBBE Vanilla options checked, install this meshes, name them CBBE Vanilla and place them ABOVE this mod (and below CBBE) then run again the Bodyslide with the rest of your mods(except the cbbe vanilla ones, duh!) and name them CBBE mods, install them and place below your armor mods(if they're amor replacers (like Guards armor replacer) these meshes should be below both this mod and the original mod). This way you don't need to keep a 1Gb download just because of Bodyslide and there is no need to reinstall the mod.

Not working for me - I wonder if the pre-existing nifs stored from previous BS runs are still overwriting - as I can't see how this fix clears old generated files. Trouble is I have no idea where to look.
Went into the created CBBE Mods folder with explorer - despite having unchecked Vanilla and Vanilla(Physics) when that was generated, and again when it was saved, there are Vanilla meshes created - unchecking the mods for the vanilla save worked (no mod nifs created), unchecking the "vanilla" for the mod save didn't. Looked at the Daedric cuirass nif using Nifskope and sure enough it is vanilla. Going to delete out the unwanted directories.

I'm new to bodyslide and modding in skyrim. By doing this, the armors from "Simply Realistic Armor" won't be transformed to fit the bodyslide settings, am I correct? If not, I can't find a way to make it work.

I found it easier just to reinstall this mod.  These armors don't seem THAT dependent on Bodyslide, at least for my eyes.

    UPDATES:

    All-In-One Weapons Replacer v1.1 Update:

    • added dragonbone weapons
    • added my ancient nord / nord hero weapons
    • replaced dragonbone bow with temporary alternate model since the original one has issues where it disappears when dropped
    • added fixed ebony / steel maces to fix floating blood
    • fixed an error where I accidentally replaced the nord hero bow model instead of the DLC nordic bow
    • added Forsworn and Dwarven weapons and Elvish dagger from Reforging - To the Masses (Weapons Expansion) / Перековка - в массы by Registrant and DeletePCH (these use Vanilla textures) Note: I still highly recommend Believable Weapons to replace anything not covered by my mod.

    • makes the steel default to use the steel warhammer/battleaxe which were provided as optional files in my stand-alone steel replacer

    1.2 Main File Update Details

    • fixed stormcloak sleeved mesh
    • fixed wolf armor mesh
    • made the new default orcish color more steel in appearance (alternate green cubemap provided)
    • edited dwarven armor and made more consistent, fixed the reflection
    • added NEW NWUA nordic steel plate replacer
    • updated Ebony armor textures & environmental maps
    • added new Ebony helmet & new Ebony gauntlets to fix invisible gap issues (thanks to mmccarthy4)
    • replaced both steel armor versions, helmet, and boots with new models (NOTE: If you prefer the steel armor from v1.0, just copy the steel cuirass files from it and overwrite - this version has improved textures for those, although I chose not to use them.)
    • replaced leather armor with a darker NWUA Realistic Armor version
    • replaced studded armor with a recolored darker version (personal preference to add more variety - otherwise everything is so brown!)
    • added glass and dragonscale/bone to main file (alternate colors still available in the files for those who dislike the default, more ornate ones)
    • added Stahlrim to main file
    • glass is now darker & less saturated (I only darkened the environmental maps, replace with old version if disliked)
    • added new heavier dragonbone helmet using the lamellar steel model (the steel helmet it was previously used for is now replaced in this version by another model)
    • replaced executioner outfit with one that looks less terrible
    • replaced merchant hat with one from Bob's Armory (it just looks nice)
    • added Mages Robes and Thieves Guild armor to main file (adapted from Warmonger Armory)

    Added Optional Files:

    • Silver sword replacement by kimono - replaces silver swords with high quality Witcher models.
    • Dragon Armors Black Edition - replaces Dragon armors with black and silver version using the new helmet
    • Bows replacement - adds a mix of my custom  bow replacers based off of Real Bows, ones from my other weapons mods, and a new Elven Bow modified from Bob's Armory. (Containes some changes - for example I replaced the Ebony bow from my other weapons mod with the more ornate model previous used for steel, and replaced the 'steel' bow model with a simpler one)
    • NEW weapons pack (All-in-one of my weapon replacers with added bows) (Note: Does NOT include silver swords.)

If you prefer anything from v1.0, just copy the mesh/textures files from it and overwrite as needed. I made this mod for my own tastes.

As of now, I will be taking an indefinite break due to other responsibilities. I will be very slow to respond for the foreseeable future. If there's any serious issues, missing files, or credit that I forgot to give, PM me and I will try to reply as soon as possible.

I am still happy to host  any patches/fixes/modifications/tweaks etc. that you create! I have left all old files up, so mix and match between them as you prefer, or see what you can create (if anyone has an alternate preference for armor color, helmets, etc.)

I hope this latest update takes care of the main issues, and thanks for all the support!!!

I thought I'd surprise everyone with this before I take a break - I've completed my final mod for a while, a complete Dragonbone replacer. It's uploaded seperately, but I will also add it here as a patch for the all-in-one replacer. For those who dislike the main sword, a replacement model is available on the separate page for that mod. Thanks for all the support!!

Hello! Wow, I cannot believe how many downloads this has received. My apologies for not being very active on here, but I am glad to see that so many people enjoy this mod despite its imperfections.

I've received a lot of requests to port/patch this mod (and other ones I made). Please see the sticky FAQ post for updated permissions.

In summary, I do not expect to be active on here for the immediate future. I approve the reuse/porting of my mods as long as full credit is given. However, my permission only extends to my own work in editing/assembling the files. This means that you must obtain permission from the original asset authors and/or make sure that they allow this in their terms of use. I did not seek or obtain permission for further reuse or porting of any assets beyond the inclusion in my own mod. That part is your responsibility, and I leave it up to you as the creators and community.

Best of luck - and thank you, everyone! <3

I have violen killing move and maximum carnage I am assuming it's one if not both to do with this mod and this armor mod. Get to the point, when my character beheaded a character the helmet remains on the body but the head flew off. How do I fix this anyone know kinda noobish. If only away I can probably sit the game where it won't behead unless they don't wear helmet, because having helmet attach to invisible head while real head chop off and rolled into the river.
