Changelogs
Version 1.1
The updated noise texture creates more detailed terrain surfaces. This is made possible by using contrast optimized textures. In order to get the correct brightness it requires new xLODGen generated LOD terrain textures with settings outlined in the description.
This mod has a single noise texture that is applied on top of LOD terrain textures. It adds detail to distant terrain textures creating a more complex, less repetitive pattern. It is made to be used with LOD terrain textures generated by xLODGen and vanilla terrain textures, but it can work with other texture mods.
The noise texture file requires the following xLODGen settings when generating LOD terrain textures in order to apply the correct brightness and contrast levels:
Brightness: 20
Contrast: 30
Gamma: 0.70
For better matching LOD it is also recommended to disable both 'bake normal maps' in xLODGen and improved snow shader (bEnableImprovedSnow=0) in SkyrimPrefs.ini.
Version 1.1 is compatible with vanilla LOD terrain textures so it does not require files generated by xLODGen. LOD terrain texture files generated using xLODGen with the settings for version 1.1 can also be used with vanilla noise texture (applied if no external noise texture is installed) for a smoother looking LOD terrain.
The noise texture is applied in-game and it is not used during LOD generation.
