About this mod

A preset for SmoothCam, tweaked for an improved third - person experience, with side offset and over the shoulder angles. It is aimed at players looking for a modern action combat experience with smooth transitions for increased combat responsiveness, while at the same time keeping the partial focus on a player character.

The objective of the preset is to provide a third - person and modern combat experience with smooth transitions for increased responsiveness in combat while keeping the partial focus on a player character (especially in out - of - combat scenarios).

This preset was mainly used in videos produced and released on my YouTube channel (Syn Gaming), and its was made with immersion in mind and keeping the player character on camera. Over time, it morphed into a hybrid that does include angles based on combat readiness.
Since the preset was relatively highly requested by the community, I decided to publish it for everyone to use.

A big shoutout to mwilsnd for creating SmoothCam, making all of these separate angles for various positions possible, and for its amazing customizability.

Modern Third Person Camera Angles adjusted for all playstyles (Open Combat, Sneaking, Magic Casting, RPing)

Dynamic & Smooth Interpolation Off Sets for:

Standing, Walking, Running, Sprinting, Sneaking, & Swimming
Combat Readiness / Weapon Sheathe (Melee, Ranged, & Magic Stances)
Horseback Riding (With All Combat Stances Included) & Dragon Riding
Werewolf and Vampire Lord Forms (Soon)

Smooth, Snappy and Fast Transitions For Quick Combat Responsiveness

Hotkey For Shoulder Swapping (Adjustable via MCM Menu)

Arrow Arcs & Raycasting Specifically Tweaked To Be Minimalistic and Unintrusive

Completely Adjustable values in MCM Menu

All camera presets were used in videos below:

The v0.75 (inspired by Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice) preset:

Non - combat camera angles are showcased all throughout the video.

Combat timestamps: 9:42, 10:44, 19:33.

Old versions but still great presets to use in my opinion:

The v0.6 has been used all throughout the video below:

Full showcase of the v0.5b preset is also in the video below. Timestamp: 10:28.

This is a preset for SmoothCam. Obviously. I don't think it's necessary to mention that it is a hard requirement in order to utilize this preset.

 Step 1:

Make sure to install SmoothCam (1.5 Version) & all of its requirements (SKSE, Address Library for SKSE, and SkyUI to utilize MCM menu).

 Step 2:

Download this preset, and install it as you would normally install any other mod. Use Mod Organizer of your choice to make your life easier.
Manual: Extract the 'Data' Folder included in the archive to your Skyrim SE root folder. (hint: Just use Mod Organizer for the love of Talos).

 Step 3:

Boot up your game, and go into the SmoothCam's MCM Menu. If you have installed SmoothCam together with the preset, give it a few seconds up to a minute for the MCM menu to be registered by SkyUI.
Open SmoothCam MCM Menu, and select SynErgy Preset on the right side.

 Example below

You are done.

 Step 4 (Compatibility)

This preset has been tweaked to have the compatibility checked for Archery Gameplay Overhaul & Immersive First Person View. Uncheck these boxes if you are not using the mods mentioned above. Furthermore, additional patches are integrated within the MCM menu, and if you are using Alternate Conversation Camera or Improved Camera, tick appropriate boxes in the same MCM menu.
There are mixed reports whether Alternate Conversation Camera is at all working better with the appropriate box ticked, so personal testing is required.
I personally didn't find any issues with ticked compatibility box when using Alternate Conversation Camera.

 Example below

 Optional Step 5

This preset can be used as is, since of course that is its purpose, however, the amazing thing about modding is customizability & personalization.
You can freely expand on this preset by adding / changing your own values based on your personal preference.

The main thing I personally conclude a lot of players would look to personalize is shoulder swapping key, as I consider it a core utility for archery, for some sweet looking bullseye shots during combat while strafing to the side (left & right).

Under the Following Tab & Misc sub - tab you can find a keymapping button that you can adjust according to your preference.

 Example below

 Updating

As there will be some minor updates and changes to the preset, updating will be recommended and can be done normally by uninstalling the mod, and reinstalling an updated version.

?
 Uninstallation

Remove the mod as you would any other mod by simply uninstalling it from your Mod Organizer.
If you performed a manual installation, navigate to Data\SKSE\Plugins and remove SmoothCamPreset1.json file.
And start using a Mod Organizer please.

I personally always use Archery Gameplay Overhaul & Immersive HUD - iHUD, as both do a great job at their respective roles.
AGO is a great overhaul for archery, and what I recommend is disabling "Arm Fatigue" option in the MCM menu, as the twitching added to simulate that same fatigue is only properly presented in first person, and is extra annoying and obstructive with SmoothCam presets, especially when sneaking.
If you decide to use AGO, untick this box to save yourself the headache.

 Example below

As far as iHUD is concerned, this little mod is one of my favorite creations for minimizing the intrusive elements of the HUD, while at the same time keeping its usefulness and heads up elements. However, with SmoothCam, it is possible you can get double crosshair in some rare scenarios.
In this case, disable Crosshair Activation when Wielding spell & ranged weapons in iHUD's MCM Menu.

 Example below

ENB users that prefer high Depth of Field settings, especially with Auto Focus enabled should consider adjusting (lowering) these values for better gameplay experience & improved vision.
Furthermore, it's important to note that SmoothCam is still in its beta stage, and has few minor issues that will probably be ironed out over time, however, there is no question this particular camera is the most superior tool we have ever gotten for Skyrim, and its customizability and implementation makes these minor issues an easy trade off.
Lastly, as I am tweaking my camera settings quite frequently, I will attempt to release updates and optional / varietal versions of the preset if the feedback is at all positive about it and will keep the page alive as long as SmoothCam continues its development.
With that being said, ensure to check both SmoothCam and this page for updates, as I am assuming the author will change the framework and specifications as the mod development continues.

To my viewers and people watching my videos, a heartfelt thank you for all the support given!

If you are interested in perhaps supporting my work, the best thing you can do is check out my YouTube channel and potentially subscribe if you enjoy the content produced. There is a small library covering various of mods released by the community in the past few months, and that same library will be expanding for the foreseeable future for Elder Scrolls V, and eventual Elder Scrolls VI's release.

Huge shout out to Nexus Team & the modding community for creating this amazing venue where we can enjoy each other's creations and further improve our gameplay experience and the life span of this undying game.
