I really want to use Missives, but bugs abound in it, and there's been no update for three years. People are writing that they are getting kill quests with no names given, no arrow on the map, and just an entire hold to find the person.
What is with that?
jayserpa, you would do the world a favor if you added in an updated version of Missives, or just add in your own version that works better and without bugs. This beautiful mod you made here is going to waste as things are in my opinion.
Do you not have the notes in your inventory? It tells you the locations that they frequent. I know that vampires are pretty easy to find if you pay attention, and if you try to talk to them you'll get a dialogue option.
Missives has a lot of bugs that are unaddressed by the author. This mod by jayserpa is for that mod, so it makes sense to just make your own at this point.
I always had it installed but never used it. Then noticed a very common water bug under the morthal bridge leaving town where a huge shader square is present. Killed all immersion in Morthal for me. Switched to Notice board and havent had a problem since
just wanted to drop that this is an amazing mod with so much love to detaile. thank you for making and sharing this with us jayserpa. without requesting anything i would look forward to see this for the notice board mod aswell. since this seems bland in comparison to this. even both are great ideas.
I myself am the author of Missives - Worldspace Additions: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/26788 in which I add the Missive Boards to other worldspaces, like Solstheim, Cyrodiil (Beyond Skyrim Bruma) and the like. As you can see on my screenshots, I use the original mesh of Missives, but replace the map part of the mesh, with another map, depending on the area. The notes part of the mesh remain unchanged though.
I wasn't aware of your mod, so cool! Since the mesh is practically the same, it's just a matter of changing the texture path of the notes from LargeNote02.dds etc. to the textures files included in my mod.
I can look into this and include an optional file with those meshes to overwrite your mesh. One question... some of your additions don't have a mesh, like the Falskaar one. Does this mean it uses the normal Missives board with the Skyrim map?
For Falskaar and some others, I believe I used the Nulltexture Texture Set on a duplicate record of the Missive Board activator. As such, it uses the same mesh as the Vanilla one, but the map part gets hidden, by using the NullTexture Texture Set.
If I can ever find a suitable map mesh for those worldspaces, I'll surely add it.
Thanks for making this. I just discovered the Witcher style missives board from the Hot Files and added your textures and they look fantastic. Great job. Endorsed.
Hey, love the textures! Do they already apply to the Wyrmstooth missives board or would that need a patch? I know it has its own Wyrmstooth map on it but I'm unsure how the note textures are linked.
