I a lurker will break my silence for the first time just to compliment this mod, IT IS AWESOME!

I love the calming seclusion, and the tropical theme is just what I was looking for, and not to mention this mod pairs amazingly well with Proteus of all things, it's just really nice to see all my characters wandering about, cooking by the fire and lounging on the beach towels. And for some reason none of them wander away like at every other player home I tried to lock them in wanted them to hang out at.

Ja, it's definitely a nice little mod, and the modder has done others that are downright incredible.

And, if anyone's still interested, I can shed some light on why everybody thinks there's no anvil and the waves wash over the mats.

Now, no offense meant to anyone, but...it's because there's no anvil and the waves do wash over the mats. There is no anvil, no metal slab across two barrels, nothing that acts as an anvil that I can find. There's none in the screenshot either. There is a workbench, and even a smelter, but no anvil. And no, I'm not using a water mod. Forgive me, and it's not the end of the world, but, hey, it just is what it is. 'K?

This is such a cool little island! I am enjoying it as a place to "hideout" from the daily grind of being Dragonborn.

Only things I have noticed thus far, bearing in mind I only play Skyrim in VR (using a Reverb G2 headset).

I use a mod called VRIK which gives me a first person body in VR, and with it I use the mod "Be Seated". When I try to sleep on the master bed (if someone else is sleeping on it) It has a tendency to physically put me either on the floor beside it, or on the roof above it. If I get into bed first, I physically attach to the bed.

I notice the crashing waves seem to cover part of the beach blankets. Might need to be moved out to sea a little bit.

I kind of wish there was a path leading around the island behind the mountains, even if it only goes to a gazebo or something. Would add to the "deserted island" feel I think, if we can walk all the way around the island.

That bonfire gets awfully bright during the daytime. Not sure if there is a way to turn off the lighting source during daylight hours that I may have missed??

Is  there a way to add music? I do not know how "music triggers" work, but i did notice the music disappears once you teleport over from Riften.

In any event, this is a superb little hideaway! Easiest endorsement today!! If you ever make a larger tropical island with a town (think accommodation for like 30 followers, all on our own island) please let me know!

      Glade you enjoy the home!

regarding the bed, did you get into a argument with the person in the bed? tends to cause people sleeping on the floor. :p jkjk

The waves are down to most likely the mods you got, as when I used to make these homes i used the default assets, but once u add mods that improve graphics etc they change a bit, I've seen some people have the waves come alll the way up to the bonfire due to the mods they used. ;/

adding music isnt that hard, if you wanna do that. Ipersonally didnt add any as i felt it added to the deserted island feel.

Oooh you know what, I am using SkyVRaan for water... I wonder if that is doing it. I might look into adding music. I was thinking the island could probably use a shrine and statue to Dibella too, with how beautiful it is. Certainly Dibella would approve of it.

I found this mod late last year mid way through my current playthrough, which ended up being my escape through lockdown. I just wanted to say, thanks for giving me what ended up being my favorite home for my character. After all the quests and dungeons, it's nice to retire to a private island where I can craft and talk to my followers in peace. I only wish it were not attached to a boat in the middle of a lake up in the mountains... but at this point, I guess I can just say it's another pocket dimension or something.

Aw thanks budd I appreciate it.
I like how people are accepting of a pocket dimension home but a boat that has to go down a few waterfalls is blasphemy lol :)

Just recently got back into skyrim, and really enjoy your mod, thanks for the hard work!  I've read all the posts and no one is asking "where is the blacksmithing station?"; so clearly I'm just old and can't see it heh.  I've looked everywhere that seemed logical to me but alas none to be found.  Thanks!

I'm also having trouble. I've gone to the left of the house, searched all over and around the crafting area, looked and looked at the picture of that area but still can'r find that damn anvil.  Do you have it disguised as a tree or something?

I love this player home you've created; it is great work and would dearly love to use it, but without a recognisable anvil it will be of no use to me.

      Thanks for replying.

The only slab sitting on top of two barrels I could find is located between the Grindstone and Arcane Enchanter, which in my game is the Armour Workbench where Armour is improved in the same way that a Grindstone improves weapons and not a Blacksmith's Anvil where I could increase my supply of arrows, build a brand new set of armour or craft a silver sword.

Any chance you might include a Blacksmith Station in the near future?

hhmm sadly I wont be modding skyrim anymore I'll probably return in the future for another game.

Quick question do you have any mods that change the blacksmith station appearance? if you do it is possible that its making that station get removed, just a thought.

If not, regarding blacksmithing station, you got 3 options.

      1. download one of the many many MANY mods that allow you to place crafting stations IN-GAME (easiest option)

      2. open the creation kit and add one which is not hard even if you never used it before

3.The Blacksmith station is all in your imagination, you dont really want one, you'd rather fight dragons. :P

Shame about that. Fortunately though I have just stumbled upon another open-air mod on Nexus that matches my requirements superbly. Workshop - Camp Rorikstead. It's much better than it at first sounds.

Hi thanks for the mod.  I keep all my followers here and I like how they interact with the items in the beach and home.

    Very quaint and pretty :p

Great mod. I know the backstory you wrote about how it was sort of a fun little thing you did and not some massive project or anything, but if you should ever decide to look back into this, I do have some suggestions.

The way you get to the island is with the boat, but instead of activating the boat the way it usually works, it currently has the same mechanics as caves/portals do where if you run close to it you automatically travel. Not sure why you went for this, but it did end up giving me a fun little story when I first went to the island, saw someone wearing the vanilla blue dress in the far distance. I thought somehow my wife Ysolda had made it there, but upon running closer imagine my horror when it was Wujeeta, who was hollering something about needing help or she'd lose her job at the Riften Fishery. At least she managed to get off the island without my intervention, but having my island getaway already crashed by a scaly skooma addict was unexpected. Not only that, but the range of the 'portal' is a lot bigger than I would have expected. I had Riften Docks Overhaul running along to test it out, and while i'm not sure if there's any under-the-hood incompatibility, in practice the bridge it adds next to your boat is unusable because the 'portal' ends up taking you to the island even when you're not up close to the boat.

lol I had that happen to me too, but for me it was Brynjolf. there is no escaping quest givers! ya ideally i would of made the boat just click to travel but no matter what i did the boat just wouldnt work for me so i ended up going with the cave doors.

atleast now you have a reason now to make a NPC a gaurd on the island ;p
