I don't know if this is a bug or not, but I've noticed that after you reach a high enough level(200+ for instance), He suddenly stops talking altogether, making the safehouse suddenly feel kinda' creepy.
Yeah I've definitely gotten that to, especially on my longer saves, when I use this patch. Try picking up and re-placing him on the display every so often and see if that helps
For simpler Oldrim mods, yeah I think so. More complex mods might have more scripts or dependencies to deal with, so be aware of that when you're converting things yourself
I've tested the non-esl version and it seems to work fine, but the esl flagged patch will not work properly with my esl flagged version of portal2mod.esp. The helmet or its replica display fine on the bust in the safehouse but nothing happens when when I try to activate the space core on the stand - not even a message about not having the item. In my papyus log I get: [02/26/2023 - 03:16:39PM] error: Unable to call IsDisabled - no native object bound to the script object, or object is of incorrect type stack: [ (FE1BE80A)].dbm_dynamicdisplayscript.IsDisabled() - "<native>" Line ? [ (FE1BE80F)].DBMDisplayScript.OnActivate() - "DBMDisplayScript.psc" Line 71 [02/26/2023 - 03:16:39PM] warning: Assigning None to a non-object variable named "::temp7" stack: [ (FE1BE80F)].DBMDisplayScript.OnActivate() - "DBMDisplayScript.psc" Line 71
To me it looks like it might be a properties thing, so after I eslified the esp I did that thing from the guide to use the CK and open the properties on the portal2trigger and then save. Unfortunately, my CK crashes everytime, with or without any fixes for CK installed. So can you specify exactly what order you did the elsifying and properties saving in the esp?
In looking at the two versions of your patch in xedit I see: https://i.imgur.com/NJ62diX.png In the version on the left (for esl version of the converted oldrim mod) the 'spaceboy' reference seems to be to a helmet asset, whereas in the patch version (on the right), the reference seems to be to the space core.`. I edited the version for the esl version of the oldrim mod and now I can display a space core replica but not the original, however if I don't have a replica in my inventory I now get the 'don't have required item message': https://i.imgur.com/m7ZsOH5.jpeg where you can see I've dropped the replica and the original is still in my inventory, this is on a save that has had the non-edited version installed since I installed your patch for a new game.

Excellent guide, followed it to the letter and proudly have my own ESL conversion of Fall of the Space Core, Vol. 1. Displays work perfectly too, hope you can add a display to the Planetarium in the future!
Glad to hear it worked for you. No real plans to add anything else at the moment, though. I wanted it to be as unobtrusive as possible since it's an unofficial LOTD patch.
Hello, i was wondering, the guy above successfully ported to ESL.. could you allow n ask him to upload that version ( or the ESP if that is all needed) i have tried step by step, n line by line from vid tutorials, with the CK, SSEDIT< n using the mod esl simified, but no matter what i do my Porting with CK to SSE n trying to ESL anything but patches ruins the mod or deletes the files, i really would love to use this with LOTB in SSE ( im sure im not the only tech handicapped out there) please n thank u n blessed be..
Sorry to bother, but I just wanted to ask about the Blackreach Railroad, Aethernautics, and Wonders of Mzark LOTD patches that you have. Are they ideas for future projects, or have they already been created?
In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have added the links to them until they were published... they're fully functional and available on the Trainwiz Mod Maintainers Discord server though, if you want to try them. Not posting them publicly just yet, in case I need to change anything major.
Just keep in mind that they're not officially endorsed by the LOTD folks.
Whenever I or a follower walks too close to the space core display the space core falls off the display and cant be put back on. Not sure if that's just me or not though. Either way I love finally being able to display it always wanted to since LE
Nevermind... Was able to track down what it was. I neglected to put a script on the display that prevents it from being knocked over or picked up, but only on the non-ESL version... Going to upload the fixed patch momentarily. That's my bad.
If possible, you can roll back to a save before ever placing the Space Core, and it should stay in place with the fixed patch.
