Version 3.2
- Reworked MCM menu to load saved settings more promptly upon starting a new game (so you don't actually need to open the MCM menu for them to apply)-- this will only happen if you have PapyrusUtil installed and don't deactivate auto-save in the MCM menu. If you already have auto-saved settings, you'll need to select them again in the MCM once after this update.
- Added convenience option to automatically initialize mod lists at the start of the game without needing to go into the MCM
- Revised conditions for Spellcrafting Trance to be added to/removed from the player to hopefully make behavior slightly more sensible
- Tagged Ancient Texts add-on with Invent.Add bash tag, for better automatic bashed patching
- Reworked handling of grimoire spells; they now remain in the grimoire upon re-learning, and there is an option to automatically add spells learned by research to the grimoire for a smoother experience alongside other mods that add a way to forget spells (so those spells won't be re-learned by research)
- Added an option to set spell tomes to read when learning their spell by research. This option requires Papyrus Extender to function; it'll turn itself back off if you don't have it.
- Made it easier to find the Primer on Spellcrafting book (it'll spawn more commonly from random wizard enemies and in a lower-rarity regular book loot list)
- Added options to set chances for losing paper/ink and notes when failing to write notes or compose a spell. These apply fractionally, so for example if a spell costs five notes and you set this to 0.5, you'll most frequently lose 2-3 notes but can occasionally lose all or none.
- Added (optional) descriptions for furniture kit items if you have Description Framework
- (Patches) Added Necrotic to the Darenii patch pack.
- (Patches) Added Frostbitten Dreams & Dark Hierophant Magic to the Kittytail patch pack. Because of identical editor IDs between Frostbitten Dreams and Winter Wonderland Magic, I've chosen not to provide these as part of the FLM patches; ESP patches are available for both.
- (Patches) Corrected two Apocalypse spells (Mystic Wind and Conjure Dremora Mentor were both erroneously classified as Master-level spells)
- (xEdit patcher) Spell names that contain '|' or ',' will now be cut off at that point in order to prevent issues with the patcher saving their configs. To be honest I've never actually seen a spell mod that has those characters in the names, but better safe than sorry.
-
Version 3.1.4
- Spellcrafting Trance power will now be added during initialization only if you have it enabled
- Altered the time passing option to also increase the GameDaysPassed variable, for better compatibility with mods that use that to detect the passage of in-game time
- (Patches) Added and updated a bunch of packs from Darenii and Kittytail, with thanks to a user who shared their categorizations and patches-- much appreciated! These packs have also been separated out into their own FOMODs to make my life easier.
- (Patches) Updated Mysticism, Requiem, and Requiem Magic Redone
- (xEdit patcher) Made a change for new entries in the saved config to include both the spell name and editor ID to disambiguate between lesser power and spell versions of abilities with the same names in spell packs. The patcher still works with existing .csv files; there should be no noticeable change to you other than you can now select properties and inclusion in the library separately for versions of such abilities.
- Fair warning, I put together a good chunk of this update while off work with a fever, so please do let me know if anything isn't working properly!
-
Version 3.1.3
- Furniture now uses the exact height it was placed at (instead of snapping to grid)
- Tweaked formulas for paper and ink costs when crafting scrolls and tomes; these now scale more consistently if you've edited the settings for how much paper and ink to use when crafting notes.
- Added an option to base the paper and ink costs when crafting scrolls and tomes on the value of the item that will be produced (Costs/Chances > Paper & ink scale). May be beneficial if you want to increase the difficulty of making money from crafting!
- (Patches) updated Abyss, Lunaris, Natura, Mysticism, and Odin
- (Patches) Astral Magic 2 revised to exclude 'Greater' and 'Pure' spells from ordinary discovery, to better fit the mod's progression
- (Patches) minor fix for Arcanum v3 (almost certainly unnoticeable ingame, but you'll now craft the correct version of the Flash Step tome if that matters to you!)
- (Patches) no update to Requiem/Requiem Magic Redone patches at this time; I'm aware they need one but they're a bit more work than the others to do so I'm putting it off, sorry
-
Version 3.1.2
- Added options to individually disable chance of failure for notes, spell composition, or reverse-engineering
- Camera auto-swapping (1st person to 3rd person) during animations now works even if you don't have SKSE-- shoutout to CC Fishing for detecting the 1st person camera with GetAnimationVariableBool, which I previously didn't realize existed
- (Patches) Requiem Magic Redone updated; previous version (v0.7.1 with Requiem version v5.2.3) moved to the legacy patches download
- (Patches) Abyss, Lunaris, and Natura added
- (Patches) Extra patches download is now packed as a FOMOD for convenience
- (xEdit patcher) Generated patches will now only have the master files they require
- (xEdit patcher) Added an option, off by default, for the patcher to randomly assign spells to principles if they can't be inferred (and you don't care what principle they get)
-
Version 3.1.1
- Fixed an issue where automatic spell learning could fail to teach master spells if "General > Require ritual spell quest to learn master spells" was on
- Tweaked position for gems on the Spellcrafting Escritoire furniture
- Added an option, off by default, to gradually increase spell composition difficulty as you compose more spells in a row (and reset again after you spend some time doing something else) under "Costs/Chances > Cooldown" in the MCM -- this option doesn't affect automatic spell learning, Ancient Texts, or Shalidor's Insights if you have them on
- (Patches) Added Sonic Magic
- (Patches) Removed bound whip spells from Animated Armoury patches, as they presently appear to lack models ingame
-
Version 3.1
- Added a set of experimental patches using FormList Manipulator, see sticky comment for details
- Added an optional file to change Shalidor's Insights to give you chances to gain related spells and/or notes based on the first spell you cast after using the scroll. This file will require a patch for any other mods you have that modify the Shalidor's Insights scroll rewards! It already forwards fixes from USSEP.
- Minor script optimization to internal search functions (skip unnecessary duplicate work)
- Modified behavior if "General > Require ritual spell quest to learn master spells" setting is switched on; master spells will no longer be learnable from Ancient Texts until you've completed the ritual spell quest for that school, and Ancient Texts will not waste spell learning chances on master spells which are currently impossible for your character to learn
- (Patches) Dropped premade patch support for using Mysticism and Odin together and consolidated remaining patches to reduce FOMOD complexity (older versions are in the Legacy Patches download if you need them). Going forward, if you want to use Mysticism and Odin together and have a version later than the Legacy Patches download, you will need to run the xEdit patcher on your combo to generate a custom patch.
- (Patches) Updated Requiem, Requiem Magic Redone, Odin, Animated Armoury, Aetherial Tomes, Phenderix Magic Evolved/World, and Psijic Teleport Spells
-
Version 3.0
- Initialization is much faster for nearly all use cases and premade/additive patches are now very close to the same speed as a single merged patch generated with the xEdit patcher
- (But patch format remains the same, no need to re-make anything with the patcher if you already have a working setup!)
- Reworked script search internals: reverse-engineering and analyzing should be faster, and left-hand-only scrolls and staves are now supported if you have SKSE
- Tweaks to magicka cost multiplier for scroll & staff crafting, speed of automatic spell learning, and furniture book drops
- (Patches) Added Arcane Accessories and Necromantic Grimoire (CC/AE)
- (Patches) Legacy patches for Mysticism v1 dropped out of the main installer to make the FOMOD less complicated; you can still get these as an optional download if you need them
- (Patches) Added scroll and staff versions of Astral Bite to the Astral Magic 2 experimental items patch; for some reason I missed this one when I first put the patch together
- (xEdit patcher) Small code change made to the patcher to hopefully reduce the chance of hitting my old enemy the "array index out of bounds" bug
-
Version 2.3.3
- Added some sitting idles that can play when doing research; afaik lesser powers like the trance don't work anyway when sitting down, but it'll play if you're sitting and use the journal
- Ancient Texts will now also play both standing and sitting idles if you have them active
- (Patches) Added Astral Magic 2
-
Version 2.3.2
- (Patches) Added Storm Calling Magic, Draconic Magic, & Draconic Magic's Diverse Dragons Collection add-on (under Extra Patches)
- (Patches) Fixed a few places where experimental items patch for Apocalypse was pointing to the wrong scrolls (so scrolls found in leveled lists should now all be reverse engineer-able!)
-
Version 2.3.1
- Corrected an issue where MCM could fail to appear if FISSES wasn't installed. See sticky comment for details.
- Added patches for placed furniture in JK's Palace mods; thanks to emeralddragons for providing these!
- (Patches) Bumped versions to Mysticism 2.0.7 and Triumvirate 1.8.0
- (Patches) Corrected levels for Suggestion and Visions of Healing from Triumvirate
-
Version 2.3
- Corrected an issue where scrolls could remain in the inventory after reverse-engineering with certain settings
- As a convenience feature, if you have FISSES installed, settings will now be saved to a file and automatically loaded the first time you open the MCM on a new playthrough. If you don't want this to happen, you can untick the auto-save box in the first MCM page. (Nothing changes if you don't have FISSES installed, it's not required.) Settings selected using the journal will be overwritten by the saved ones when you open the MCM if you have this feature enabled.
- (Patches) Reanimate scrolls are now correctly associated to their spells in the vanilla experimental items patch; all other patches remain the same
-
Version 2.2.3
- Added a fix for an issue where MCM menu could become scrambled
- Added option in FOMOD to turn on a few settings by default that require SKSE
- (Patches) Added Mysticism 2, Colorful Bound Weapons, and Simple Dismiss Summon
- (Patches) Arcanum v3 & v4 updated to include reformulated spells (flagged as quest-locked)
- (Patches) Added experimental patches that add scrolls and staves for some spell mods
-
Version 2.2.2
- Fixed an issue where cell respawns could create duplicates of furniture from the Placed Furniture plugin
- Modified scripts to confirm the player is the one equipping items-- let me know if you're still seeing any issues with pop-ups showing up when you don't expect them!
-
Version 2.2.1
- Fixed an issue where Equip Abilities were not removed when storing a spell in the grimoire
- MCM setting for enabling portable spellcrafting made more responsive to your previous settings (turning it on and off will now correctly restore your settings for Spellcrafting Trance as well as recipes)
- (Patches) Aetherial Tomes updated
-
Version 2.2
- Balance changes including increased magic cost for scroll crafting (now also configurable by MCM) and Ancient Texts distribution
- Added containers for writing & enchanting materials to furniture for convenience
- (Patches) Added Requiem, Requiem Magic Redone, Phenderix Magic, Chronomancy Spell Pack, Colorful Magic, and Shadow Spell Package; thanks to Spikefan74 for the help with the Requiem & Phenderix patches!
- (Patches) Small fixes and updates to various other patches
-
Version 2.1
- Reworked success chance formula to give better control over difficulty curve and make progression more reasonable, plus other minor feature additions and bugfixes.
-
Version 2.0.1
- Very minor update; only change is to the Placed Furniture plugin to compact one FormID so it no longer causes an error in TexGen.
-
Version 2.0
- Restructured mod for better efficiency throughout. Added many new optional features including craftable furniture items for more visual spell discovery, a grimoire item to store spells you don't use, a more flexible patching system, a passive spell learning system, and animations.
-
Version 1.2.1
- Minor update including only a script fix so players will receive spell tomes when reverse-engineering if that option is selected. Previously the spell would be added directly when reverse-engineering regardless of the config setting.
-
Version 1.2
- Added new config options (to set the mod to add spell tomes instead of learning spells directly & allow time to pass while researching or crafting).
-
Version 1.1
- Updates to scripts, including a fix for an issue where the mod uses the opposite of the user's setting for whether to discover quest-locked spells as well as some minor changes that might improve speed (function unrolling).
-
Version 1.0
- Initial file version.
