About this mod

Resistance Cap is now 100%....BUT Potions and Enchantments no longer stack! This means that items like 'Amulet of Poison Immunity' or 'Vampire Poison Immunity ability' actually are now 100% effective....however, reaching 100% resistances by stacking enchantments + potions is now almost impossible to accomplish!

This is another entry in my 'Enhanced Difficulty + 'Lore' + 'Realism' series of mods!  Enjoy!

*IF you like this mod, you'll probably like my new 'Reduced Magic Resistance Effectiveness vs Elemental Damage' mod.

What does this mod do?

Short answer:

-Resistance cap is set to 100% (from 85%)....so complete Immunity IS possible...just extremely hard to get!
-all enchantments and potions/ingredients (and foods) no longer stack with themselves or each other!
*so 0 cost spellcasting, +200% alchemy/enchanting, +150% damage from stacking enchantments/potions is no longer possible!

Long answer:

-First part of this mod:

Ever wonder why items (or abilities) that give you 100% immunity DON'T actually give you 100% immunity?  That's because the vanilla Resistance Cap is set to 85%!

By setting a 100% Resistance Cap, items (and abilities) that are supposed to give immunity now actually do so!  In fact, since you can no longer stack enchantments, unique items with a powerful enchantment(s) are even more valuable than before!

Additionally, racial abilities (which can stack with enchantments/potions) also become more valuable than before!

*There is an alternative file option that keeps the 85% resistance maximum.

-Second part of this mod:

Have you ever thought that stacking enchantments to reach 0 spell casting costs, or 200% smithing/alchemy bonuses, or 150% damage = stupid!  If the Lore actually allowed this = everybody on Nirn would be doing this!

This mod prevents potions and enchantments from stacking with each other.  Here are some examples to help you understand:
-if you have 2 enchanted items that EACH give +25% OneHanded damage, you'll only get a +25% bonus.
-if you have 2 enchanted items (1 giving +25% and 1 giving +35%), then you would get a +35% bonus.
-if you have 2 enchanted items (1 giving +25% and 1 giving +35%), and THEN you drink a potion of +50% OneHanded Damage, then you would get a +50% bonus....until the potion runs out, then you would have a +35% bonus from the most powerful enchanted item!

By preventing any Alchemy/Enchantment stacking, you can no longer put on 4x pieces with the same effect + quaff potions = you are a demi-god!  Instead, a single item with a powerful enchantment is far more valuable than 4 items with similar (but weaker) enchantments!

*Soups/Food no longer stacks with itself....but it still can stack with potions/enchantments + marriage food

**Marriage food no longer stacks with itself....but it still can stack with potions/enchantments/food.

***THIS MEANS you can have 1 soup (food) + 1 enchantment/potion + marriage food stacking an identical effect (the strongest for each) at the same time.  This still allows for some synergy, but is GREATLY reduced compared to vanilla skyrim!

HardCore Version:

This version is largely the same as the standard version, EXCEPT the Magic/Fire/Frost/Shock Resistances don't stack!

So, for example, a Dunmer (50% fire resistance racial) who wears boots of Fire Resist (15% Fire Resist) and who drinks an Elixir of Fire Resistance (50% Fire Resist for 5 minutes) = would have a Fire Resistance of 50%!  The highest effect wins, and the other effects don't stack!

The only exceptions that allow for stacking are Divine/Daedra Shrine blessings.  For example, Azura's blessing stacks with other Magic Resistance effects!

Compatibility

Just load this mod last!
-any mod that alters the 'MaxResistance' cap will be incompatible with my mod (won't crash anything, but last mod loaded takes priority)
-any mod that alters Alch + Ench MagicEffects will be incompatible with my mod (won't crash anything, but last mod loaded takes priority)

NOTES:

*Version 1.5 and 1.6 are identical, except 1.6 has fewer instances of Magic Resistance stacking!

-Weapon enchants are untouched!
-Muffle base Enchantment should be at 50% (a small soul gem powered enchantment should no longer give you 100% muffle)
-Food bonuses are untouched = will work with potions/enchantments!
-Saarthal Amulet has a unique enchantment = it will stack it's 3% bonus onto other spell cost reduction enchantments!
-Amulet of Articulation has a unique enchantmet = it will stack it's speechcraft bonus on another speechcraft enchantment!
-ALL Shrine blessing effects are untouched = they will stack with potions/enchantments!
-ALL Racial Abilities are untouched = they will stack with potions/enchantments!

*For those of you wondering what the difference between this mod and the 'No Stacking Enchantments' mod:
1) my mod sets MaxResistances to 100%
2) my mod no longer allows Enchantments and Potions to stack with themselves OR each other!
3) my mod allows for a few exceptions for unique enchantments that seem similar to their more common counterparts, but are actually unique in themselves.
4) THIS mod is focused on providing a HARDCORE 'Realism' experience while sticking closely to Elder Scrolls Lore.

I hope you guys enjoy this New Years gift!  Let me know in the comments what you think! :)
