About this mod

This mod is yet another method of getting both the axe and the masque from Vile's quest, but without editing the quest itself, making it (hopefully) compatible with mods like The Choice is Yours and Wintersun.

Update: This mod's implementation is now included in the newest version of the The Get Both Rewards Series mod. Leaving this mod up for those who are only interested in the Clavicus Vile portion, are interested in the mod's implementation or any other reason. 

Taking inspiration from the Get Both Rewards Series mod, this mod lets the player get the Masque if the player got the axe at the end of Clavicus's quest, or the axe if the masque was the reward. Like in the other mod, the item is not just going to be given to the player straight away, but rather the player must find it (the locations are different from GBRS's though).

But the item locations' is not the only change made. Unlike the GBRS, this mod does not edit the scripts in the original quest, making it (hopefully) compatible with any mods that make changes to this script, like Wintersun, for example. The way this is achieved is through a trigger and a monitoring quest that would check for the outcome of the quest and enable one reward or the other respectively

The location of the items should not be too difficult to guess, but let's say that one is in the hideout of a group that would greatly benefit from using it against their enemies, and the other one is hidden in the room of someone that seems to be disliked for no fault of her own by her fellows.

If having issues finding the items, or simply not in the mood for treasure hunting, the locations are the following:

Axe: Gallows Rock on a table next to a big chest.
Masque: The Bard's College in Solitude, between a bed and a table in the basement.


I do not think this mod should cause any serious issue as it doesn't add much at all, but  with Skyrim we can never be sure. If curious about the implementation the source scripts should be bundled with the mod. Any advice to improve the mod would be greatly appreciated.

22/12/2020: At the moment of this update, the mod only works if the Daedric Quest has not been completed yet (technically the mod activates on the stage that tells you to bring the axe to Clavicus). I have not tested it, but theoretically if you go to Clavicus's shrine after completing the quest, only the extra masque will appear.
