All credit for the original mod goes to DdsLedg, it’s amazing!

If you play Midwood Isle in VR, chances are you're seeing random glowing NPCs appearing all over during your travels. This attempts to fix it.
I think this will only work on a new game (or at least before Midwood is installed), if the NPCs have already spawned for you then this won't remove them after the fact.

I’ve played through the entire Midwood Isle campaign with this patch, and it seems to do the trick. But this is highly experimental for me, so I welcome any advice on improving this.

Details are below, but are story spoiler heavy.

Late in the story of Midwood Isle you travel to an after life where you meet friendly glowing NPCs.
In the process of porting this mod to SSE, I think the mod author made all of those NPCs Persistent. Which is normally a good thing for quest dependent NPCs. But in the VR version, for some reason, it causes all those NPCs to spawn virtually anywhere. I've seen them in Castle Volkihar, Solitude, and even Bruma!

I've changed those afterlife NPCs to Temporary, and they seem to not spawn anymore.
However, the 3 Beggars in the afterlife MUST remain Persistent for the quest to function, but they don't seem to have the same AI package that the glowing NPCs have so that's not a problem.

I've also changed one of the afterlife Story Manager Quest Nodes: LastendelleScenes.
That scene references PlayerRef PLYR:00000014, which is different in the VR version of skyrim compared to the SSE version. So I removed that PlayerRef condition in that scene in case that’s contributing to the VR bug. I’m not 100% sure this change is needed, but there seems to not be any bad side effects as a result. So let's just call that experimental overkill :)

Coincidentally, this MIGHT fix the issue of those quest-required NPCs from not being in the afterlife when you need them. The first time I played MI (without this patch of course) the first Elf I needed to meet in the afterlife wasn't there, I had to use the console to bring him back. So it's possible that he spawned into Tamriel earlier in the game as a result of this VR bug, and wasn't where he needed to be for the quest. This is just a theory. And in fact, consider this patch just a wild experiment!

And a huge thank you to DdsLedg for the fabulous new land of Midwood Isle. It's fantastic!
