I just spent litterally two weeks trying to make this work with a custom argonian race I was working on and failing miserably :'( (Trying to replace the argonian head/textures with the half dragon race)... could you please tell me how you did it
So I used Xedit to make the patch. Loaded the high poly head.esm and the custom races you want to patch. Check the race morph the custom race uses which you can see at the bottom of the race tab. Go the High Poly Head.esm under head parts and right-click the head that matches the custom race for male and female (and vampires if they will have different textures) then select "copy as new record into...". Rename the head and choose the file you want it in, either in your custom race or create a new esl. If you picked new esl, add your custom race as a master for it. If you don't want your custom race to depend on high poly head, copy all the files you see in that new head part into your mod and change the path in Xedit. In the new head part, change the texture set to your head textures and Also change valid races to the head part of your race.
anybody have any idea how i can get the high poly head mod without using the borked af vectorplexus site, literaly cant create an account on that site no matter what e-mail i use it says that its already been used by another user
I have the same problem. If I find a solution, I'll let you know what worked.
Upd: I had two mods installed for additional races. Aedra and the Half-Dragon As soon as I disabled the Aedra mod and the patch for it, the game started
UPD2: As far as I can tell from my little search, the main problem I personally had was the mod for Aedra, which was abandoned around the middle of 2022. Since that moment, there has been no response from the author and only complaints on the mod's page.
For anyone wondering the first image is Half-Khajiit Race Ohmes-Raht with a preset "Fluffy" from Kurone Preset Package + Kurone Fluffy Skin FOMOD.
However there are some complications regarding the head mesh, you need the Old version of Half-Khajiit Race Ohmes-Raht, Prior to when they added the Built-in high poly head. This dependence is caused by the Kurone Preset Package being created on this old version.
So you need the file in the miscellaneous section of this Mod page to provide the high poly head, If you do this + the old version of Half-Khajiit Race Ohmes-Raht it will work.
The hair is from KS hair and you can get the eyes from [Fluffy M'rissi Replacer] https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/53654 by manually extracting the file and copying the yellow eyes in the texture folder. Add the addons from newer versions of Half-Khajiit Race Ohmes-Raht manually for better effect.
Hey guys, I noticed many of you have been struggling with the "slider not moving" issue just like I have. I just managed to fix it, and as it turns out, Headpart Whitelist was the problem! So if you also have this mod in your load order, might be worth trying to disable it. It didn't just break the slider for me, but also certain eyes and hair mods. Hope this helps!
your method explained in the sticky note is easy enough to follow how ever it doesn't seem to work for my own custom races what is quite frustrating to me
edit: me was being dumb not realizng that i had a mod conflicting and causing the highpoly head patch for custom race to not funtion the mod inquestion was : Headpart Whitelist by disabling/ removing it made the patch work as intented
Hi Kboot, I tried using the instructions you provided to Askota in 2020 to apply a custom change to the Tsaeci Race included in the Lost Races of Nirn (formerly Lost Races of Aetherius). Unfortunately your patch for the older mod no longer applies to this. I was wondering if you could help with this. Thank you for your time!
