I hope you all enjoy Limited Leveling! I'm open to any suggestions or constructive criticism you may have. With that in mind I'm sure Limited Leveling will not be for everyone, however I don't take kindly to trolling or negative comments without any constructive suggestions. With that said, keep your comments constructive and we won't have any issues. Enjoy Limited Leveling!
This mod is meant as a general foundation mod for those using other difficulty mods. It's meant to address overall difficulty throughout the game, it can't balance your game for you, that is still up to each modder to find the right balance in their game. Limited Leveling is meant as an add-on mod for modders like myself, and those modders who feel they need it to address feeling over powered at higher levels.
! ! ! Suggestions are welcome for improving Limited Leveling ! ! !
Thanks for the new version, but it will be more realistic if Stamina level-ups increase carry weight by 0 instead of 1.
Because in reality you can wear without a backpack: Armor (it will be the heaviest part) Weapons (1-3 maximum depends on weight) And a couple of items (food and potions 1-3 or whatever)
The most ideal value is 65 (player.damageactorvalue carryweight xxx). It is physically impossible to improve the stamina to carry more things, which spoils the immersion.
As in reality, if you need ore and you go into the mine, you change your armor for light clothes (to be able to take more), or when you go into the dungeon you only take weapons and armor.
I also wildly like your Savage Skyrim mod, which makes animals real, fearing for their lives, they do not attack recklessly and behave appropriately, and also look appropriate. (Thank you very much for that!)
I will seriously consider your request, I think having several versions for people to choose from is the direction I will take this mod. So you will probably get your wish eventually.
It would also be interesting if the carryweight goes up by 1-2 for leveling the stamina for the backpack so you can lift more weight with more endurance.
I second the increase carry weight by 0. It's the most realistic one since after levelling up for a while you will just get more and more extra carry weight which can ruin the balance.
Firstly, thank you for such an immersive an challenging mod! It's great to jump in to Skyrim 10 years later and still with a challenge, and thank you very much for all the different versions too!
I've tried a few of the options but couldn't find the perfect one for me. If it is not too much to ask, would you consider making a version where upon levelling up, player chooses between +2 health, +5 magicka or +5 stamina (only stamina coming with +1 carryweight)? Together with other combat and realism mods, I find that having health equally increase with magicka or stamina results in me picking health on most occasions. I find the decision a bit more balanced this way.
Thank you for the kind words, Unfortunately Skyrim's engine doesn't allow for you to break up the attribute points separately for health, magicka and stamina. It only allows for one choice when you level up, so all attribute points go towards the one you pick. You can change the amount, but not the way they are distributed. I'm open to other suggestions though, so if you have another I'm listening. All the best my friend.
Ah I see! Thanks for the swift reply anyways. In that case, the next better thing for me would be +3 health, magicka and stamina and +1 carryweight perhaps?
This would work great if complemented with system that encourages character specialization, without relying on artificial class system ( which imo, doesn't really fit in immersive rpg). Something like: - initially all skills are debuffed/get an effectiveness penalty ( - 100% effectiveness and experience rate) - first 6 skills you invest perk points in, cost regular 1 perk point, and they become your primary skills. Others cost an additional ( 2) perk point, and they become secondary skills. - for every perk point you invest in primary skill, you gain +20% effectiveness bonus/xp rate: after 5 perk points, it's restored to vanilla values ( 0% )
Perfect! I didn't realize until I saw it, but this is exactly what I needed for my newest playthrough!
I do have one suggestion - some versions that slow down your skillup rate. For example, I use Elys Uncapper for the express purpose of setting all skill gains to a 0.25 multiplier, since I feel the default rate is way too fast. Some versions with 0.75, 0.50, and 0.25 might be a good idea :)
Hi Denis, I considered that when I was creating the mod, but I decided for a more conservative mod to start with and see how it's received. If there is enough demand, I will seriously consider alternate versions of the mod, 0 or 1/2 carry weight points. Enjoy the mod my friend.
You know, it'd be neat'o if leveling was entirely cut from the game. Complete quests to get perks, like that Redguard in Whiterun actually teaching you a sword and shield technique when you return his father's sword to him. Power bash and Decapitation, or something. Completely open leveling lists, give everyone 2x health by default. Just a thought.
That would be the greatest RPG ever created! Unfortunately I don't have the skills yet to pull that off, but it would be awesome! As my skills improve so will my mods, so keep tracking my profile for any updates and new mods coming in the future!
Hi, I don't think you can disable the pop up messages, that's part of the game scripting engine, but if there is enough demand I could make several versions that give even lower stat gains, e.g. Level up 1,2, or 3 points with 0,1/2, or 1 carry weight points.

This mod kinda does implement your idea to a limited extent.
