Pesky grass seems to show up everywhere you don't want it. i deleted it from Skyrim.esm

A certified banger for systems struggling to render at your desired framerate. Inspired by every potato's must-have OCD performance enhancers: No Grass In Caves, No Grass In Objects, and Remove Underwater Grass.

The secret sauce

I used xEdit to deep-copy-as-override all [Grass] records from Skyrim.esm/Update.esm and deleting each Model sub-record--performance will increase since grass meshes aren't rendered. Same is done for Grass [Landscape Texture] sub-records.

This beta is flagged as an ESL. Merging is unsupported, but 100% possible.

Compatible with everything. Except.. y'know, grass mods. Only overwrites vanilla grass records, maybe 20 in total. No scripts. Extremely light plugin. So you can run this with Veydosebrom, but do you really want to?

  • Q: But I still see grass?
  • A: ctually, those are either TREE records, Flora, or the wallpaper we call ground textures. All untouched by this plugin for maximum compatibility.

  • Q: lod?
  • A: not included. DynDoLOD will probably give you a few thousand suspended stacks in reSaver if you take out all grass, so you should only run DynDoLOD after solidifying your load order, with NoGrass.esp directly above your DynDoLOD output.

  • A: if you need help installing, don't.
